Very suprised and impressed with this hotel, well presented and staff were polite and helpful. Room was very clean and quiet at the back of the building. Booked into restaurant for evening meal, everybodys food was excellent and again very friendly staff. Booked purely for location for Edinburgh marathon. Everything...except the noise outside the room. We still enjoyed our stay, we complained about the noise on leaving. And we were pleased with the response we received from the staff.

It was probably the worsed room for this type of thing. The hotel needs some refurbishment. The noise/music/shouting from the bar below most of the night till 1am. The bed was hard which was good after a long drive but the pillows were very flat and hard. The hotel was some way out of town and with very little parking because the fringe was on we had to use the bus. but an all day ticket each only cost £7 for the two of us. With access to a very slow bus service. the restaurant was short staffed. had 1 waiter and a manager, we had to wait 30 minutes after ordering for our food. however, full marks to the waiter who polite and did his upmost in giving us a good service, although, he was run off his feet. the manager apart from greeting people when they sat down could have done more by taking orders and bringing the meals out. no free wi-fii,no brekfast for that price. No Premium Inn rewards system as we will use PI for future stays. There was always a strong smell of cigarette smoke in spite of the severe warnings posted in the hotel and room. None?. Room a bit sparse but good for money. radiator in room struggling to warm the place up on a cold day. None. No lift or gym!. The wi-fi was useless. I paid £3/day but it continually dropped out. No real ale in the bar. no air conditioning. Unfortunately had to wait for about 1 hour on the Saturday night for a meal. Although these things do occasionally happen. There isn't lift. Ordering and then waiting for hot items at breakfast takes far too long. Nowhere to plug in an electric shaver or toothbrush charger in the bathroom. The bar surface was dirty and sticky like it had not been washed for weeks. Not a lot for the children to do, but this is not a holiday hotel but a base camp. Being told at 1030pm that I could not walk through the bar to our room as I had children with me! Instead I would have to walk around the back of the hotel and through the car park in the dark!. Rooms had radiators which made loud popping noises every few minutes during the night, keeping us awake. Bed was uncomfortable - by the second night my back was hurting. Very thin walls - awoken by neighbour knocking on our doors at 4am and talking loudly. Reception staff in the morning were superficially sympathetic but offered no compensation. Food in the restaurant was very average and overpriced for what it was. The hotel entrance is a long walk to get to. The phone in our room didn't work. The carpet is a bit dated. Disappointed with the bedroom It overlooked or was near the boiler room. from about 6.15 a.m. there was a background noise and the room was very warm. Noisy stag party in restaurant on evening of our stay. very basic amenities in bathroom. Building site. when checking in was informed that if paying by cash then I.D. would be required as it was their policy this info wasn'T stipulated when making the booking good job that I had some I.D. on me as otherwise but have been A bit difficult. paying by A credit or debit card wasn'T an issue but paying with cash was!. Three floors, no elevator. Not close to restaurants (only option was restaurant in hotel). Expensive breakfast. Waiting one and a half hours for breakfast. It has two floors and it does not have lift. Very heavy to arrive to the room with the lugaje.
