We are a family of 6, with children ages 2, 8, 14, and 17. We stayed at the Thistle Street Loft. This provided the best value for our family. Jon was also very accommodating to our needs. We were suppose to arrive after lunch, but due to delayed flights, we didn't arrive until after 1AM! Jon was very accommodating, helping us with our luggage and insisted on contacting him if we needed anything. He lived close by. He was quick to respond to our text messages when we did need something. The loft.
all reviews » We had a great time in Edinburgh and Innercity lets was a great place to do it. Very clean, spacious and we'll equipped. Jon is very friendly and professional. He is your own personal concierge. Just an email or phone call away. Well located in new town with lots of restaraunts, shopping, and parks close by. Less than a ten minute walk to the Royal mile and castle. We stayed at Fleshmarket Close apartment, excellent location directly on Royal Mile. Modern bathroom and kitchen with dishwasher, clothes washer and clothes dryer. 5 min walk to train station, 5-10 min walk to Edinburgh castle, 5-10 min walk to Princess St. Shopping, 15 min walk down Royal Mile to Holyrood Palace. The owner was extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful. Fantastic location, most guided tours start within 2 mins walk from the property, excellent bars and restaurants just down the road, very comfortable bed and airo bed. The apartment is in a perfect location.you should know that There are a lot of stairs to climb. the apartment is very nice. we enjoyed it very much! Jon is the perfect host!!! Thank you Jon! We had some problems with our flight arrival and he was very flexible and courteous about accommodating our schedule on check-in and check-out days. This is a lovely spacious apartment with very comfortable beds, and an actual big screen TV, in the heart of New Town Edinburgh. Jon was very helpful and accommodating. The Inner city lets apartment is in a great location. The apartment facilities are excellent and spacious for a couple. This in the absolute prime ++ location of Edinbugh. We didn't mind too much though as we only made one trip down in the morning and one trip up when we return from our exploration in the evening. It's just a little work with luggage. We stayed at the Thistle St. Apartments which we loved. They were on t he fourth floor with only stair access. Didn't bother us but something to be aware of. Location on Royal Mile street is excellent, but much nightlife/noise until 4am--pub singing, bagpipes/accordion playing, etc. We found it exciting/charming. Modern windows reduced noise considerably if closed, but we left them open for breeze. The flat didn't come stocked with kitchen towels or toilet paper, aside from the roll that was in the bathroom. That was a bit odd. The biggest challenge for us was only 1 bathroom for up to 6 people. Also on the third floor with no elevator. In a more expensive area of Edinburgh than the old town. Lots of stairs.. But the ideal location in a fantastic building was enough to compensate. There is a lot of steps up to the apartment. The radiator went wrong for a while. We're a bit surprised to learn that the accommodation was on the 2 nd floor but the host very much helped us with the luggage transfer. Perhaps should have read the details better. A few a Steps to climb with your suitcase as the apartment is on the second floor but its well worth the climb. With the Aero Bed set up (+3 people) didn't leave much space to relax in. Being in such a prime location you do get a bit of noise from yahooing "happy drunks" at 3am in the morning. Lacked a welcome supply of coffee/tea/milk sugar. Wi-Fi only works partly. The bed sits so low that it is hard for old people to get up and down. Single glazing meant disturbed sleep from street noise below. Stairs to apartment not easy for older people. Same with very low bed. The flight of stairs to reach apartment. too many stairs up to the apartment. No wi-fi but not a big deal as shops close by have free Internet. Lots of street noise need double glazing and darker curtains for front bedroom, no where to hang wet clothes. It is a 3* appartment on a 5* location. TV was broken Sliding doors were broken and dangerous for kids to be around No plug for the bath. Although this apartment is close to everything since it is on the Royal Mile, the fact that the windows are facing one the busiest areas of the Royal Mile makes it extremely noisy. Street cleaners, drunken people singing and yelling in the street most of the night, and some noise from other apartments make very difficult to sleep. The many steps up to the apartment are very grim. This property would be best for those who may be out until 3am anyway. we were not prepare to get into a place without any toilet paper or any supply at all. We had to run out in the late evening after we arrived to find those essential supply. Major disappointment. At least, we need some early warning. Needs decorating and cleaning throughout. Did not eat in the place. Lots stairs which did not affect us. Bedding clean but property not as good in reality as photos suggest. Disappointed with place but value for money And the agent was efficient. Room lights not working. Grubby environment. Needs a bit of attention. where do i start, Filthy cooker, dirty furniture, broken tiles in the toilet, broken tap in the toilet, broken lock on the toilet door, broken lamp in the lounge, no remote control for the TV or video, no plug for the bath, disgusting entrance hall & stairwell, poor cleaning standards throughout.
