Like most hotels in Douglas it is now an old building, but everywhere inside the hotel was nice and clean and the staff where very helpfull. I was in a single room, but not too small and the shower was fine. The buffett breakfast, eat all you like, was good all three days I stayed, cerial, juice, bacon, sausage, eggs etc For me the location was perfect on the front in walking diatance from the Queens Pub, up a very steep hill for the TT Races Paddock, the Electric Railway for the Laxey Wheel .

We were allowed to leave our bags at the b&b for a few hours so we could potter until it w. We had a wonderful two night stay at The Edelweiss. On our first morning we had a lovely breakfast and due to an early ferry we had a prepared packed breakfast to take with us on the second morning. The staff were very helpful when asked about local restaurants. The facilities were clean and nicely presented. I was aware that there was only a small lift, but as I was staying with my 70 year old mother it was most suitable in getting to the second floor that was right next to our twin bedroom do. Friendly, accomodating and flexible to my requirements. Absolutely ideal for business travellers, as both quiet and privacy is respected. Brilliant free Wi-Fi coverage than actually works, even on the top floor! Hassle-free, down-to-earth and good value, with an excellent buffet-style breakfast service too. I will definitely be visiting again!. The hotel smelt like it had been freshly decorated and the room i stayed in was lovely - fresh new carpet, feature wallpaper etc. The breakfast was lovely too, beautifully cooked scrambled eggs and lovely bacon. Very attentive staff. Nice living room downstairs with humongous tv. I would definitely stay here if i visit isle of man again!. Staff were very helpful and very friendly. We arrived early and asked if we could leave our bags but were welcomed and told our room was ready and we could leave them there. This hotel has friendly staff and serves an excellent breakfast. The hotel is convenient for the Manx electric railway. Although the town centre is a mile walk down the promenade there are regular buses and the horse drawn tram stops just across the road. A top class set up with friendly proprietors, excellent cleanliness and food. Also in a quiet location set back on a side street from the seafront and handy for places to eat and drink. Will certainly use again when heading back to the Island. No bar, but honestly I can't blame them as it only has about 24 rooms so not enough custom to warrent it. all round a really nice place and sensibly run. if I really tried I could say that the lad working over breakfast wasn't over friendly and the breakfast didn't excel, but again, it was excellent value for money and perfectly pleasant. thanks again!. Absolutely nothing i disliked. There was nothing we disliked about this hotel. N/A. Nothing. A fair walk from town centre but you can get horse-tram or bus . Not really a criticism. Nothing. Nothing not to like. No negative comments whatsoever. Nothing. It was lovely. There was nothing that I could fault at all. other than a tiny lift, there is nothing we didn't like. That "intimate" lift...but in fairness it's difficult to see how it could be improved given the space constraints and it is safe. There was nothing i didn't like about Edelweiss. Breakfast could have done with a little more variety. Nothing I didn't like, the stairs were hard work, but I guess they used up a few calories :) (there is a lift if you need one). Needed a bit of a facelift décor wise. The hotel is slightly set back from the promenade so our sea view (extra charge) was partially obstructed. nothing. Can't fault it. Nothing really. As I was there on business could have done with an earlier breakfast (starts at 8am) but that's it. Would definitely stay here again. Small bathroom, old toilets. every thing was fine. Having to go out and find somewhere to eat in the evening. Not applicable,liked everything. not much wrong the shower was a bit on the small size that's all. No ground floor rooms for guest with a disability. Was a little hard to find should be addressed as Switzerland street?. liked everything no bad points at all. not that close to the city centre. the mattress on the bed was a bit soft for my liking but that is the only thing and it it did not detract from my stay. bath small and no shower so could not wash hair; cute lift good but very tiny!. Room was very cramped. usually I don't mind a small room, for all the time I spend in it, but this one was barely comfortable. Also hash browns at breakfast tasted like they'd been sitting there a while.

Stag or Hen parties cannot be accommodated. Early arrivals or late check-outs can be arranged with the property directly. This is subject to availability and charges are applicable. It is not suitable for wheelchair users. The lift is turned off between the hours of 23:00 and 07:30 to minimise noise to guest rooms near to the lift.
