Very good value for money. Was a lottle put off on first arriving by the appearance on the outside - which gave a very tiered and run down impression. However as they say 'never judge a book by its cover'!! Room looked as it it had recently been done up - very clean - linen/towels were clean and smelt fresh. Food in the Toby was usual standards and breakfast was good for all inclusive price.
all reviews » Very good value for money. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom recently re-furbished to a high standard. Easy to find and with sufficient parking space, which is free. Good choice of food for evening meal and breakfast, all well prepared and very reasonably priced. As a lone female traveller I felt very safe and would use the venue again if I were working in the area. Excellent location for Doncaster Race course which is one of the reasons why we chose this hotel. Staff were fantastic, very helpful and let us check in early before heading off to the races. Ideal to be situated in a Toby's Carvery as it's handy and cheap for food. Very clean and comfy, value for money. Would defiantly stay here again. Good value for money. Continental breakfast included was very good but a cooked breakfast was available and cheap if you needed it. Rooms are away from the pub part of the building so remain quiet. Off street parking and only 10-15 minutes from the A1. The staff were brilliant and the food and beer prices reasonable. The bed was the most comfortable that I have slept in at a hotel for a long time. The facilities in the room were plentiful and notices stated if you had forgotten anything just ask. We loved the friendliness of the staff- the ease of booking fabulous food.Good rooms have used the Family room and double rooms. Would recommend. Have stayed in 4 star hotels, but prefer to stay at Inn Keepers as more relaxed atmosphere. I had a nine day stay and it was very good. Outstanding price, outstanding value, clean and friendly, with great breakfasts. I know the Carvery is also terrific but I didn't get to use it this time. I will stay here again. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere, staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms occupied by ourselves and family were spotlessly clean and comfortable. We would not hesitate to stay in the future. Everything, regarding the food which we didn't have and would have liked to had the Sunday lunch. We went out Sunday morning, and on returning about 1o/c the place was full. Missed out-tough!. All staff were very good and helpful. The Carvery was wonderful and the room very clean and comfortable, thank you for a good stay with you, we will certainly be back. i liked the very friendly and accomodating staff. always helpful and the barman soon got to know my order. the second room was much more comfy and quieter. the hotel was very clean with large rooms continental breakfast was included but upgraded to full english for 3.99 very good value and excellent taste . family room was large with two double beds.bathroom was very large. staff were excellent and very helpful and the children were no problem to them. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and responded quickly to any problems. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. Room was very clean and quiet. Just the outside appearance - little off putting when you arrive. No lift and there were 40 steps up to my room on the second floor. This would not stop me coming again - I would ask for a room on the first floor. The fact that I had paid £15.00 more than my friend who was there on the same day. The property is a little old and tired and it could use some investment or updating here and there, especially around the exterior. However, overall, if nothing was done it will still be a great place to stay. Little disappointed that there was a limited choice on the carvery, turkey and gammon had run out on the Saturday night, although the pork and beef were delicious. Nothing to dislike. My wife is not very good on her legs, we hoped there would be a lift, also the outside area was dirty and broken glass on the floor, not very good if children are around. extractor fan noise in first nights room. Bathroom facilities were not so good. The toilet didn't flush efficiently and the shower was cold even after leaving it running. A curtain or blind at the bathroom window would have been good. The curtain tracks were up. facilities in the bathroom a little cramped. Continental breakfast was stale and not very nice. Some road noise, but not too bad. Checking in at the bar was a problem as bar staff were very busy and we had to wait quite while until someone was available. Noisy neighbours. a bit dated. No lift stairs only. Nothing. Outside facade a little nondescript and unwelcoming. Very noisy. It was next to a main A road and because it was a hot night (no air conditioning) we had to open the windows. The road was busy all night long despite it being a Sunday night. Also the manager was not a happy bunny no welcoming smile or greeting. The pub below does get busy. nothing. All good. Room very dated. Check in is in the pub so this feels more like a pub with rooms than a hotel. Here was no one on reception when I came to check out so I just left my key on the bar. Staff well over worked on the Saturday we checked in only one bar staff was very busy due to big race meeting . Beer garden very untidy old broken tables and chair's. Had problems finding the place. All places should have a street number on roads. Room upstairs with no lift. Not good for people with mobility issues. Breakfast included was continental. Had to pay a further £4 for tradition breakfast. Iter-connecting door meant we could easily hear the people in the next room . Service in the Toby Carvery was very slow.IT was not busy but we had to wait for our starter order to be taken and then wait another 20 minutes to get a coffee we had ordered. Only one comfy chair in room, cold bathroom. No lift and this was not made clear on the website. The duvet was far too thick for the time of year and made sleep uncomfortable. The toilet flush system did not work properly. On main road and with window open due to heat constant road noise all night. needed lick of paint on ceiling and walls lampshade not clean ie blood or coffee. Shower in room 104 was too hot and not adjustable. Was reported on day one but not repaired on day two.
