What people say
Having read other guests reviews prior to our stay I was unsure as to what we would find. Despite the comments made by others we had a very enjoyable stay. So what if there are a few bald patches on the carpets and the odd black mark in the bathroom, I was not intending to sleep on the floor nor spend the whole visit in the bath. For £40 it was very good. I can recommend rooms 508, 509,511 and 513. all reviews »
We were staying only one night at the hotel to have a relaxing night after a very busy day. It was very reaxing.friendly and helpful staff, clean and pleasent room, real value for money food and we will certainly use again. This hotel is good value for money, the staff , room, meals and locationwere excellent. Private, unable to hear other guests, no disturbs from staff. Easy to book , easy to find , nice staff, good price,. the hotel was not to far from the town centre, the rooms and bathrooms and genrelly the hotel were all imaculate and clean, room service was great too. the other bad reviews are just lies.... very nice hotel, excellently situated on a main bus route into the centre yet still out of the way leaving you in a quiet part of the city.I was able to book in late (after 21:30) without any fuss. The cleanliness of the room and the comfort was great. Free parking @ the hotel. Business like welcome. Good selection and amounts of hot and cold breakfast foodstuffs.Really efficient and helpful staff in all areas. Clean and comfortable room. Good price and food. everything. The hotel is close to Coventry and Birmingham with good roads to and from the hotel. The hotel is comfortable and we enjoy our stay there. The staff were very helpfull and it was a cheap place to stay.Good size rooms and value for money. Food+ service good+ friendly. We stayed at the hotel o go to a concert at the Ricoh Arena, 7miles away. The staff were helpful and the room was comfy and had all we needed. The hotel was not the closest to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry as suggested but the local taxi firm have an arrangement with the hotel and they were reliable and quick to arrive. A £10 cab ride to the Ricoh Arena. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was quiet, clean and it was good to have tea making facilities. The bathroom was well equipped with shower cap, soap etc which was particularly useful.I can't fault the staff's kindness and willingness to help. The room was clean and tidy and served its purpose. Good breakfast, helpful and friendly staff. Small problem with radiator in room quickly resolved.Location close to where I needed to be - easy access from motorway and to science parkj. Location to the NEC was excellent Fantastic Value for money Easy to find. The food (breakfast) was quite nice. Parking for diabled was good. we liked the breakfast and the room for the price we paid. good location for city centre pubs. room was very cheap. Evening meal and the breakfast was really first class. well placed hotel for access to coventry. friendy staff, cleanliness and price. close to the places we wanted to see. The room was clean and tidy. everybody was friendly. able to take our pets. good location. Easy Access. The location was perfect for my work, all necessary facilities are on site and the food was to a reasonable standard and not expensive as is the case in some hotels. Car parking easy, excellent lifts, quiet at night in the rooms, bed and towel linen new and white. Spacious rooms. Convenient location. we only slept at the hotel as we were meeting friends who live in Coventry, therefore did not make use of the facilities. Price was good so we didn't expect too much. Was actually better than I had anticipated on reading the reviews. The breakfast facilities were fantastic, set you up great for a long day ahead. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very conveniently located.Food was good and the public areas were clean and pleasant. Good parking, big room and bathroom, quiet.Location to The National Motorcycle Museum+. Very good female receptionist (American). the staff were freindly and helpful. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms. site location and cleanliness. Friendly restaurant staff.Clean and comfortable. There is nothing not to like. Good service and friendly staff. If you have any problems then speak to Charlotte on reception who is very good and will do all she can to help. If you want better accomodation I would suggest paying twice as much and going elsewhere. During our stay the hotel was full and I saw no signs of any complaints from anyone. I guess some people want 5 star luxury for £40.There was nothing We didn't like the Hotel. But it was bit difficult to find the Hotel, because we forgot to bring the direction to the hotel. No facilities to get a drink when we returned to the hotel, we only wanted water but was offered one pint of tap water for us both ! We had booked breakfast but the receptionist didnt mention it at all to us, it was only later we remembered but at that stage we just didnt bother and checked out without. I would like to see an al'a'carte style breakfast menu along side the buffet style service. It reminds me to much of school!!. Bathroom was a bit tired with some discoloured grouting in the corner of the shower over the bath. Sticky brown tape acting as a door handle grip. The structure is a bit tired and in need of refurb, but still good for the price. Other Guests Slammed their room door entering or leaving their room. It is a shame the hotel cannot Initiate a quiet to other guest whilst in the hotel to all its guests. It could do with painting on the outside ane the windows cleaned!!. On arrival, I was starting to regret the booking, The hotel looked very dated and uncared for. On entering the lobby, we were pleasantly surprised. It wasn't modern but quite a classic looking hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the bar menu and breakfast were good - nothing flashy but excellent value for money. The directions were bad especially when coming from A46 South. It took me ages to find a way of getting to the hotel. The bulding and general appearance looked "tired" - especially the outside. Main restuarant was closed on Wednesday evening, so limited food choice in bar - however was good value. Could do with some modernisation but none the less it was still very comftable and great value for money.I think because the windows could not open wide, it might be a good idea to have them cleaned more regularly to ensure a good view. we felt that the evening meal was poor as the meat was dry and over cooked and the veg was so over cooked it was mushy. decor throughout was very dated and clientel very mature however for a place to sleep only, the price and location are very good. Our room was really tired and shabby the net curtains were yellow the shower was useless only warm water with no pressure..............The bar and reception area was drab and needed modernising and brightening up. 3 lifts only 1 working.could do with cable tv in each room.burn mark on bed linen,
broken plug socket
dirty windows. food tray left in corrador outside my room all evening tiles loose in bathroom. The only problem was the heating in my room was not very efficient, other than that I had no problems. outside appearance shabby, windows dirty, TV poor quality picture. The beds really were quite lumpy and the kitchen staff had trouble keeping up with demand in the very busy breakfast room. the hotel was dated and the bed wasn't comfortable. No hot water in the morning. We were woken up at 8.15 by a maintenance man wanting to put some screws in our door and who then proceeded to bang, hammer and crash in surrounding rooms. We had planned a much-needed lie in as we were visiting an exhibition at the NEC later and didn't need to check out until 11.00 a.m.The room was a bit tired, carpet a little threadbare. The duvet was stained. Bed was too soft.the outside of the hotel looks terrible , on arriving there it worrried me
but walking into reception everything looked a lot better. Not enough staff, leading to delays. Decor fraying at the edges. Obtrusive large screen in the bar.internet access too high rate. Not very warm.
