Surrounded by picturesque Thames Valley countryside, this charming luxury boutique country hotel and restaurant is in the idyllic village of Cookham Dean, only a 45-minute drive from central London and less than 30 minutes from Heathrow Airport.. Each individually designed bedroom is beautifully furnished, some with period features including beamed ceilings. Some of the rooms have a sumptuous four-poster bed. All rooms have a digital TV and en suite facilities. The hotels gardens feature a luxurious seasonal outdoor hot tub and swimming pool, where guests may unwind. The Godiva House restaurant serves traditional British food and has a relaxing lounge bar. There is good access to the riverside towns of Henley, Marlow and Windsor. Free WiFi internet access and free parking are available to guests.

Me and my partner came for a break away, we only stayed one night but found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We eveb had the chance to have a breif conversation with the owner who was very friendly and helped us decide where we were going out that evening. The room was lovely and they have the softest pillows, all you could need for you stay was provided in the room. Bot a bad word to say about the place it was a pleasure to say.
all reviews » Everything was spotless! Beautiful surroundings in a really quiet area, ideal after a long day! Staff are really friendly and professional, food in the restaurant is to die for! The rooms are not too big but well decorated, bed really comfy, one of the best relaxing nights I had for a long time! Definitely will stay there again!. Lovely location, which I'm sure is a hive of activity in the summer, I stayed early November for 1 night and was the only guest in the hotel and also the bar... Got great service though!! Andy the hotel manager was incredibly helpful. Amazing staff on duty felt like receiving personal service nothing too much trouble just needed to ask. Warm and inviting atmosphere throughout our stay. Staff were excellent, food was great. Hotel had plenty of little extras like bathrobe, bar fridge,etc The friendly service from Andy was magnificant. I would go back to the hotel. It was our Wedding Anniversary and all the staff made us feel very welcome and relaxed. Highly recomended :). Loved the room, quite small but really beautifully done out! V comfy bed and pillows! And nice bathroom. Bar was lovely. Friendly and efficient staff. Excellent food. The atsmosphere was really nice, the setting was lovley. The room was quite cold as the heating wasn't on initially, but it warmed up quite quickly. There was no one on site during the night- which was a bit disconcerting!! I was unable to check out in the morning at 07.00 as no one was around and the reception/breakfast area was locked up. Bit out of the way if need to travel locally. Taxi drivers can't find their way back although not expensive to use if you don't mind the inconvenience, and enjoy the ride through the countryside at night. Nobody on reception when we arrived, had to go and hunt people down to check in and out. No drinking water in room - though glasses provided for both water and champagne!. Nothing!. Out door area round the pool needed a clean, as did the pool. Our room had no drawers and only 3 coathangers!. Investment is needed to convert it from being a slightly shabby country house hotel to a luxury country house hotel. I would stay there again. Breakfast none existent, no staff there at 7am and the main building was locked. I had to leave without breakfast although I had paid for it.....not impressed with this. Under staffed - one staff member was clearly stressed out we felt bad asking for anything Booking a king size room and being put in a tiny crash pad - then being made to feel bad for bringing it up rather than getting an apology with a smile Generally not clearing away food and drinks for hours and not supplying any bins or ashtrays or dog bowls or dog poo bins despite being dog friendly The air-con not working in any of the rooms (even after being reset) No cold water tap in room 6. Nowhere to work in the bedroom. Pool not in use, prices of drink. faint huming noise in the room. Struggling with wifi. Evening dining staff slow and meal poor quality. Chef was not on duty and it showed. 1 1/2 hours for 2 course meal loud music. No person on reception, had to wait as another couple did for a long time,before anybody saw to us. Had to ask for remote control to operate TV. BREAKFAST tables not cleared available.Available table not set up properly, no side plates, no salt and pepper, no cereals available, had to ask for orange juice, toast etcetera. The whole Hotel seemed to be relying on just one member of staff.. Our Sunday lunch was cold and they must have ran out of vegtables, the hot tub was laid with scum and we could not use it, the toilet in our room had splashes of tea up the door and for £115.00 per night this was not exceptable, we would not reccomend it. from here we went to the Hand and Flowers in Marlow what a difference the Sanctum should take some tips from Tom. Had dinner on first evening, fish overcooked, ask for steak blue it was medium. Breakfast lacked details hard butter, no salt & pepper no staff to help, in my opinion as a restaurant owner it lacked care. The shower in the room either burnt or froze you very dangerous! Dust needs seeing to.
