The hotel has a conservatory, bar and restaurant (which we didn't try but the menu looked attractive). There are plenty of books and newspapers if you prefer to stay indoors.   It was the first time we had travelled with a young baby and staff were very supportive initially over the telephone then in person, providing a travel cot in the room and a high chair at meal times. The food was reasonably priced and very good, and the rooms were modern and quiet. A similar distance in the other direction took me to the High Street where I filled my time in the shops and a cafe, and was met with friendliness and courtesty at Reception. We walked into the town centre during the day (approx. 10 mins), however, a taxi was necessary during the evening. Its location is next door to an amazing Beefeater where the food was delicious and had won awards for excellence. Also really close to Sainsbury's and Wholefoods.
