Very welcoming, a friendly couple who made you feel at home and couldn't do enough to make your stay pleasant. Very good breakfast. Ideal base for touring in that area. Rooms were comfy, very clean, nicely decorated, bathroom spotless. Tea, coffee & bickies, fresh milk, bottled water. Also very nice lounge area, so could come back and watch tv or read papers/mags before popping off to bed. Would certainly go back there.
all reviews » Extras - owners have experience of Hyatt hotels so they have taken on board what extras people like from a top hotel company and added it into their B& b, eg robes, tea and cake on arrival, good showers, dish of sweets in room, separate lounge for guests comfort, fabulous breakfast, well worth the price. Owners have only been there 3 months but they have got it spot on. Warm friendly new owners, had been operating for 3 days only when we stayed. We had a twin bed room which had good bedding and comfortable beds. We are sure Andrew and Claire will turn the B & B into a really excellent place to stay, they listened carefully to all our comments. Very welcoming and my stay was made comfortable and easy. They went the extra mile providing those little extras and putting themselves out. Good facilities in the room and a home from home garden and lounge area, followed by a good breakfast. Highly recommend. The cleanliness, welcome, helpfulness, bathrobe, breakfast beautifully laid out with fresh raspberries, plums and blueberries as well as full English and freshly made toast using proper bread not the nasty sliced stuff found in some hotels. Parking down narrow side lane may be difficult but the owner offered to park there for us but we stayed on the high street instead. The only adverse point is that parking is difficult because of the limitations. However, this is not the fault of the B&B.Their rear parking was accessed via a very narrow lane and if your wing mirrors do not fold it is not accessible. Nothing to not like. Toilet, which is going to be updated soon. Being tall the doors where quite low, but hey that is what heritage buildings are about. Only small complaint, could do with some soap and shampoo in the en-suite. Otherwise all ok. I didn't like leaving !. Nothing. Chard is a bit run down in places - needs some tlc / economic change of fortune. Very tight alley leading to back of property to parking. Having to leave. probably the toilet!. Nothing to dislike. plumbing was noisy. nothing to dislike. Nothing. just a bit noisy because of traffic would have a room in back next time. hot breakfast served before starters were finished. It was OK but very old fashioned. and tired.
