This was my third stay at the Varsity and I can't wait to go back. The location is perfect, it's right beside the river, very close to the main shopping area and the beautiful buildings of the University. The staff are very friendly and helpful throughout the hotel. Breakfast is amazing. There is a huge selection of dishes to choose from whether you opt for Full English or Continental. The rooms are very comfortable clean and well equipped. Everything from the greeting from the staff at the reception to the layout and the quality of the room was excellent. Hotel is in a great location and as the building was a former period university building all the rooms will all have slight variation in layout and views! For the tall.... The Waterman is a very pleasant place to stay if you're an easy-going person: it's clean and comfortable, but the bathroom's shared so you have to be OK with possibly waiting for the shower and the toilet. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful (especially Alex - hello! :-D). The breakfast was simple but there was a lot of food and the wireless connection was very good. It's 10 minutes walk from the centre. - Anonymous
