What people say
This is our fourth stay at the Mercure Holland House, Bristol. We have always received the best of attention from the staff who are very pleasant to a one. Our room is always good and we mostly have been able to have the same room on each stay. Breakfast is very good and we have had some lovely dinners there. Location is spot on with only a short walk to the river. The hotel was lovely and a bargain for the room too at only £69 for a double! Parking was cheaper than listed, being charged £10 for two days, excellent. Really nice, would go again.all reviews »

The whole experience was worthwhile the staff were good and helpful theroom was excellent for the price I paid I only stayed one night butwould definately use again. My daughter and I loved the huge twin room and bathroom, the food in the restaurant was great and staff very helpful and efficient, pool was fun too. Every aspect of our stay was excellent .... the staff were curtous and helpful and the room was very comfortable with excellent shower facilities. We were upgraded on arrival to executive double, the staff were very helpful and we would stay there again happily. Access to excellent swimming pool, helpfulness of staff and opportunity to visit the Spa. The cleanliness and modern decor which made our short visit comfortable. The proximity to the City Centre, the pool, the room, the shower...overall cleanliness-important,fitness room and swimming pool. Room was clean, receptionist was very polite.the whole experience was good. Quality of room and service. Great size room. Good cost. location helpful staff. Everthing was great. Good location. The friendly staff, modern decor, cleanliness of the room/hotel in general, proximity to station/work venue. The bathroom was awesome. leisure and spa facilities and reception and bar staff were extremely helpful, approachable and courteous. The rooms were lovely, very clean and comfortable. The bar staff were also very good. Great location at a very reasonable price. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable.Quality of accomodation and breakfast, had a very comfortable short stay. Excellent staff, large bedrooms, open and inviting public areas.Complete professional service and quality from start to finish. The room and the bathroom are huge. Everything was perfect!. very comfortable and quiet hotel in good location. Very central, good room.clean, quiet, modern. The food and service was quite nice. The room was clean and quite comfortable. And a nice little walk away from the city centre. So overall, nice hotel to stay at in Bristol. Also the swimming pool and fitness facilities are a great addition!. The location was excellent and the hotel itself was very comfortable and quiet. The size of the room was nice and big and the shower was very luxurious!. The Holland House had everything right: service, conditions, facilities, and location. I certainly recommend it.the bed was incredibly comfortable and the decor was nice, it had everything you needed in the room. central position, friendly staff, discounted room rate. I loved the size of the rooms, and how clean it was. Good location - very comfortable and clean room. That the front end staff were very pleaseant. The large bedroom and the room amenities.Clean and comfortable, nice reception and bar area. Convenient location. We were a big group and they were very accomodating about letting people check in at different times and holding onto our luggage after checkout. The stay was very enjoyable, brand new hotel, nice food, good service with helpful staff, the room was large and well fitted and tidy, swimming pool and other gym facilities are open 24hours a day and free for guests.Have stayed at their hotel in Cardiff which was great and this hotel was just as good, facilities were great. use of the swimming pool, location to town centre, helpfull staff, nice room. good location close to town center.
low noise level. how clean the hotel was, the size of the room. welcoming, friendly staff. The leisure fascilities. Smart modern rooms. Its modern, trendy and contemporary. The staff are certainly helpful and friendly. I'd stay there again for the price.A well-appointed modern hotel. Pool looked great - unfortunately had not time to use it. Very handy for Temple Meads, very good deal on room. Breakfast very crowded and long queues for the self service. My major bugbear is on checking out we were charged an additional £8 for use of the car park, which we may have missed but saw no mention of when checking in. It would have been nice to have been told, prior to check-out!. Lack of second bedside table. Price of breakfast in my mind very over priced so did not have any unfortunately, also Parking.Would have been nice to have a sauna and spa pool too!!. that our room had a great view of the church....but a bit too close...really noisy sun morning...would request a room around the rear next time. there was no mention that the room would have a shower not a bath. Parking rate was not as advised on website. one of the 2 rooms smelt of stale tobacco which was quite unpleasant. The breakfast was a bit chaotic, but I believe this was just due to it being a bank holiday and the amount of people that decended to breakfast at the same time. Other than that, we were very pleased.Austere look from the outside, not able to drive to front of the hotel. Price of breakfast and car park. Somewhat impersonal - wouldn't use it as a long holiday base but ideal for weekends or shhort stays. car park facilities. Parking was available at the hotel but it cost £8 per day. There was no bottle opener so we couldn't use the mini bar however, when requested once was sent up straight away. didn't like paying extra for the car park. room service (how anyone can mess up Linquine Carbonara and garlic bread beats me) it took 45 minutes to arrive from ordering, was originally taken to the wrong room and I suspect was reheated in a microwave. Parking charge of £10 per day seems excessive. Room heating was adequate if you had it on full blast. There were hairs in the swimming pool and you had to pay at the car park.Small choice on restaurant menu and waiting 45 minutes for our meal and they were not busy. They tried to charge most of us for a car park despite not having cars there. Pool quite small, a little dark and not that clean. There was no extra cutlery at the buffet breakfast availible for guests. i would expect breakfast to be included in price of room instead of having to pay extra.(over £13 is very expensive). there was no parking space had to park else where. Paying extra for the car park!. The restaurant was like an office canteen - stark. Yes the room smelt of vomit, when I checked a piece of furniture had been moved to cover up a pink stain on a brown carpet (that I think was someone elses dried-in sick). Access into the hotel is poor in rush hour (you have to loop round if you come in from the M32 and then sit in horrendous levels of traffic trying to get over and then get back over Bedminster Bridge).I though it was expensive for its location. The breakfast was 16 pound, the parking 10, and the room 90. It was just a modern hotel, nothing phenomenal. Expensive breakfast, didn't have one.
