It was great to have the fresh flowers in my room the next day, a lovely thought. The breakfast in bed was great. I loved the room, really quaint. Really well situated couldn't have asked for a closer place to the sea and the shops. even time to pop back with goodies then off to beach later to watch the free outdoor cinema, then back to one of the many restaurants only 5mins walk away. Perfect location, and parking too.
all reviews » Maja is wonderful, nothing is too much trouble for her. We checked in a bit early and it wasn't a problem, breakfast in bed was delicious and we slept well. Little sweets on the pillows was a nice touch! It's in a great location, only a short walk from all the shops and the Lanes, but it was quiet enough to be able to sleep, too! Perfect!. We really enjoyed our stay at Motel Schmotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We were very kindly upgraded when we arrived and the room was superb. And the breakfast in bed was outstanding! Staying at Hotel Schmotel made our trip to Brighton all the more pleasant. Our hosts were lovely and very helpful. Our room although small was really comfortable and very well equipped. Breakfast was delicious and an added luxury of being served in bed. Couldn't have asked for more. Will definitely stay again. I loved everything, friendly staff on arrival/morning, best nights sleep i've ever experienced in Brighton (quiet) even due to location, very close to everything. Loved the breakfast. Great small but friendly hotel in the middle of Brighton, but away from the main streets so a little bit quieter. There was only one room with a bath, so we only had a shower... but this wasn't really an issue. Can't fault it. We would definitely stay again. Shower curtain a bit grubby at the bottom. The hotel is quite small, so the noise from the room next door's shower carried quite easily (but ear plugs helped!). Our bathroom was very compact but fine if you're only staying a few nights and can't really complain considering how reasonable it was. Very small, cosy room & ensuite. May be a problem for larger people. Only room available when booking was basement room with external lavatory which was not ideal. Also large bath, on a raised dais in otherwise fairly cramped room was unsatisfactory and a safety hazzard. Minor complaint as I didn't spend lots of time in the room but the angle of the tv meant it was difficult to see the picture properly. Shower wasn't very powerful but was fine for one night. Bathroom bit small and dark. Hallways and communal areas a bit shabby. Boyfriend kept opening the door when I was on the toilet because he thought it was funny! Latches inside bathroom doors?. wind trough window [i think one off], top floor, [but we knew this would be the case]. Small room and very small ensuite - a bit cramped but adequate. the toilet is too small, hard to turn around in it. Wifi did not work the evening we checked in or the following morning when we checked out. To be fair this room is advertised as a small double. It should really be a single room. If you don't know your partner that well when you arrive, you sure will by the time you leave! Try drying in the bathroom after a compact shower and you inevitably fall through the unlockable door bare backside first! Only suitable for slim, short people that are very comfortable with their bodies. Local parking ridiculously expensive. Up to £75 for 3 days!. We had numerous power cuts as there was a problem with the electrics in the building. This meant numerous loss of wifi, heating(this was winter) lights and tv. Although the staff were apologetic there was no apology from the owners or reduction from the bill- we stayed for six nights and this disruption lasted for the final three nights. What seemed good value at the start wasn't in the end as the power loss for hours on end spoiled our stay.
