I found the hotel very good value for money. It was clean, the staff were helpful and pleasant. I would definately stay there again. Despite busy Christmas party time the room was well insulated from the disco etc.quiet weekend. Locality. The room! Absolutely gorgeous and such a change from usual hotel rooms. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful.

There was a party going on and it was quiet noisy until late. Walls not very thick in rooms, quite noisy. the only thing i did not like was that in the fridge there was a chocolate wrapper and the valance on one of the beds were very dirty. This hotel is in administration and it showed in the lack of maintainance. repairs had not been done, this was understandable, but should be done. There was a party on which we did not know about until we arrived. It was noisy until 1 am. The bar was overpriced with a single baileys costing £5 each.I thought our room was poor quality decor-wise - it was almost as if they had run out of money doing up the public areas, and when they got to the rooms they just added a few pictures and bits of furniture which were Eastern in style, without actually refurbishing the rooms. The carpets were dated, the bathroom also needed work, it felt in all honesty like an old BandB room and not worth £110 p.n. Noise outside, party in bar, lack of food in evening, poor beer selection, limited breakfast choice, uncomfortable bed.noisy housekeeper in the morning chatting next to the room in their own language. Poorly run hotel, too many problems to mention. I would avoid staying at the Orchid Hotel as I feel you will be very disappointed with a lot of the services 'offered'.
