Birmingham Pet Friendly Hotels

My partner and I stayed in this hotel for 1 night. All i say is that we found everything at this hotel to be perfect. Reception/Check in was easy. Our room was on the 14th floor with amazing views - the room was spotlessly clean, including huge bed + bathroom. We had a flat screen TV, iron, safe and Tea making facilities. Checking was also just as easy and the staff were extremely helpful. I cannot understand why anybody would stay anywhere else in Birmingham! Perfect!! :-) - James

Service from arrival, through room service, breakfast and departure was first class. The room was very clean and comfortable with all the facilities you could want. the room service menu was great and the 4 course platter was excellent. - John

I attended a birthday part where over 40 people were served a meal that could not be faulted. It was piping hot, delicious and served by very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for everyone in the party. We were not rushed to finish our meal, time was given between courses and we were not rushed from the room when the function finished. We booked into the hotel for a two night package with some friends. The package included an evening meal. We were up in Birmingham for the Twenty 20 finals day at Edgbaston on 15th August and we stayed Friday and Saturday night. We had our meal on the Friday night. We read the reviews and were expecting the worst but we were very pleasantly surprised. Stayed one night prior to a flight to Jamaica. Check in was very fast and friendly. Our room overlooked the road at the back of the property and was a little noisy at rush hour. The room was very nice and more than adequate for what we wanted. The shower was perfect with plenty of fresh clean towels. Breakfast next morning was continental and although i like a cooked breakfast we found it great and got toast cereals jams muffins bread rolls cheeses yoghurts tea coffee and juices. Stayed hear a few times. Rooms are excellent and clean and well specced for the price. I booked online and first time i stayed, i only paid about £33 for room only. Second time i stayed i booked online again and got breakfast included for £39 per night which is very good value. Only downside is location as its in the outskirts of Birmingham but it is walking distance from Star City. I live in Birmingham therefore Star City is nothing new for me but for outsiders it may be different. Overal - Pamela

The hotel is fantastically located for a weekend away, short walk from Birmingham train station and the Bull Ring shopping centre... all the bars clubs and restaurants you could ever want are within a short walk. The hotel is located in what looks like the smallest chinatown I've ever seen but the food is fantastic in the restaurant directly opposite the hotel, can't remember the name. Staff are certainly the biggest asset the hotel has, yes they were incredibly busy when we checked in but la - Richard

First of all - forget the other negative reviews pre 2009 as the hotel has been fully refurbished - with en-suite facilities as promised (separate bathrooms). We had our wedding here and the whole day can be made or broken by the reception, from food to staff. I can say the staff at the Old Rose And Crown really made the day special. The food was lovely, the staff attentive to your every needs (including providing a private room for a mother with a new-born baby) and the room layout was exce - David

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The service and staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room were very clean and to the standard you would expect for this kind of hotels. It was very close to the venue we were attending the meeting, making it very practical and easy for all parties. - Brian

We used this hotel as a base for a reunion, booking six rooms on a D/B/B deal for three nights. All the rooms were well appointed and comfortable, although some were rather tortuous to get to in this Grade II building. The breakfasts were great, with comprehensive, freshly cooked food. The evening meals were absolutely wonderful, with a change of menu each night. The staff were all excellent, with especial mention for our " oriental " waitress, Annie. We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights when in Birmingham for a dancing competition and we couldnt have been happier, The staff were fabulous and let us have the use of a function suite to practise in and wished us well the next day, the breakfast was lovely and plenty choice. would definitely go back. - Nicolas
