Wow, the staff were always polite, considerate and helpful, we mentioned it was our 20th wedding anniversary and they upgraded us, which was a lovely surprise. we will definately come again and have recommended them to friends and family. Beautiful clean room, stayed with my 13 year old grandaughter,she would have been extremly happy to stay in the hotel room, Staff attentive and very helpful, breakfast 10+,especially the blueberry muffins to die for. all reviews »
Friendly, helpful staff. Particularly the fact we arrived - very tired after a flight - before noon and there was no problem checking in. Very many thanks, this was a great bonus. The view from the 16th floor was amazing and the room was spacious and very comfortable, we will definately be considering staying there again. the view out of the window! the large bed and comfy bedding.. close to centre, friendliness of staff, nice rooms. Well, i asked on booking.com in my special instructions for a double bed not 2 singles, but i couldnt be bothered to complain as i knew the holiday was full due to birmingham half marathon.Not that we didn't like but would be great if you could provide a recycling bin as well as rubbish bin in the rooms. online registration was not recieved by the hotel and even though they made a photocopy of my confirmation email, they first wanted to charge me with a different rate...As previously mentioned having to pay twice and different amounts (?) was very dissapointing as I would assume a hotel advanced enough to know what you touch in the minibar would be aware of how much to charge you and whether or not you have paid. Although the hotel have assured me this will be rectified soon. Price of goods on mini-bar, may be acceptable in Mayfair, not central Birmingham.I did not like that we had two single beds pushed together and two separate duvets as well when I spefically asked for a double bed... When checking in and out, with two different staff members it took longer than expected and got our booking mixed up with someone elses.the hotel was not as clean as the last time i stayed there, there was blood by the shaving mirror, the carpet was wet by the bed, the maid had not picked up a broken glass, which i put my foot on luckily for the hotel as i would of sued them. and drink splashes were on the wall. The lunch/dinner food at the restaurant was not tasty.i thought it strange not to have a lobby where you could sit and relax and watch the world go by. £9.50 for a glass of white wine in the bar. prices were not so good, and rooms were not so big. all food served was cold. prices in hotel bar!. understaffed at the front desk, poor selection of bar food as I only wanted a sandwich.Prices at the Bar crazy. In the room not even a biscuit to have with acoffee and no draw space for clothes. My partner thought the hair dryerwas the poorest she had ever used. The room was still overpriced, the room was cold, it could have been cleaner and no breakfast for the price of £169 for one night!. The staff have poor English and are not in control at all- more so in the breakfast lounge!!. the food was the worst i have ever tasted in a hotel of that standard i sent everything back it was revolting.
