Comfortable. Friendly, attentive staff. Well positioned for visitingBath centre. Ample parking. Lovely view from room. I loved the four poster bed and roo, and breakfast was very good, the staff were very nice and friendly. The owners could nt do enough for us. Excellent. The hot tub. The lounge bar was an unexpected "extra" facility that we found very comfortable and useful for liasing with our friends (also guests).

In one of the two rooms we booked, the shower water was too hot!. the room as musty. We had to open the windows (very cold) to air the room out,and make it fresh. Room was a little bit too small, they forgot to turn the heaters on early one morning so it was very cold. Broken toilet seat in room. Plates for breakfast need to be heated - unheated they cooled food a little too quickly. There was only one menu which did not change. The room was a little small. need of a little updating in bathroom. Quite a long way from the centre of Bath, but walkable once we had directions. On our arrival we stopped in and had a meal. It was grossly overpriced for what we had. In fact we considered it a rip off.I did complain but the young lady said that £14.50 was the going rate for meals in Bath. The next day we did eat out in the City and found that not to be the case. What went wrong in the booking communication is not clear to us.The shower and tape did not work properly. A 'long' walk to town center. WLAN was not working for iPhone. Breakfast buffet was sometimes empty.15 minutes walk into the City - all down hill. Coming back more like 25 minutes and a steep climb. needs updating, wanted to use the pool.Their was no allowance for vegetarians at breakfast. T vegetarian option was the usual breakfast minus the meat. No extra was provided in place of the meat. This meant that the cooked breakfast was very small. Room was a little small but overall very happy with the room and we got an upgrade which was fantastic!!. Curtains needed on some windows eg ensuite. The central heating didn't work in the room and the shower was very difficult to get to the correct tempreture. If anything just the hours of breakfast were just a touch early and the cooked breakfast itself was not great. Bedroom and Bathroom were very small. The room was very cold when we booked in because no radiators were on.long wait at breakfast on the sunday. I know it was a busy time and everyone arrived together but I think more staff was needed. The Friday evening meal was made fresh for us. The heating! It was off a lot of the time, I take it to save money, but it was snowing out side and for a £100 a night hotel this was poor!. There was rubbish under the bed which had not been removed. The instructions on the website were not very clear, and it took us quite a while to find it. The price is not fair enough, especially for the pine wood deluxe rooms.

The hotel restaurant utilizes fresh and local produce and herbs from the hotel gardens. All dishes are homemade and the the food is European in style. Only continental breakfast will be served during New year ( 01.01.10 and 02.01.10).

Important information to guests

On arrival, guests will be issued with a room and front door key. Check-in must be before 22:30 as the hotel does not have a night porter and reception closes at 22:30. Guests without keys will not have access to the hotel. The swimming pool is normally open June - September, subject to weather conditions. Wentworth House does not accept children under the age of 7. Groups are welcome.

Travelling information

Wentworth House is located on the south side of the city. On arrival in Bath follow signs for Wells a39 until you reach the railway arches on your right. At this point turn sharp left up the hill on a367 for 1 mile until you see the 'Bear' pub on your right (it has a polar bear over the front door). Bloomfield road is on the right hand side of the road, two turnings past 'The Bear' pub. Wentworth House hotel is 100 metres up Bloomfield Road on the right hand side.
