The hotel is located within a 30 minute drive from Lake Windemere and Grasmer without the high prices demanded from these locations. The rooms are excellent and the included breakfast is excellent with a la carte individually cooked dishes. The on site restaurant serves delicious reasonably priced fare for lunch and dinner. The fact the staff couldn't do enough for you from the start of the stay and the food was good quality and we'll served the rooms were spotless just short of a few more pillows and a comfy chair to relax with a cup of tea.

Barman on duty Monday night was polite and helpful, and had supplies to help my colleague who had forgotten his wash bag. . The staff was friendly and very helpful and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was good and fresh. There was always bottled water available. Excellent location, very helpful and friendly staff. They answered all our questions and helped us find the right room. Good value for the money. Some may find the distance from the Lakes a little prohibitive. Parking for cars is on the street in front of the hotel. Barrow in Furness, itself, does not appear to be a tourist destination. Nothing. Staff at breakfast were sullen. Whilst checking out, the lady who was doing this took 3-4 minutes to acknowledge I was there then only spoke to give me my bill. Tip always polite to let the customer see a copy of the bill before placing it in a sealed enverlop. The woreless internet for the room I stayed in did not work my entire stay. I repeatedly requested the router be reset to no avail. No phones in the rooms so you have to walk down to the front desk for service. No window direct to outside-glass partition to bathroom and window through there. Second floor no lift. The food I had in restaurant in evening was poor. En suite a bit cramped (but OK). The restaurant stops to serve food at 8pm. Breakfast too early for us! (6.45-9.00), but this is a problem for all late sleepers on holidays like us!. Missing parking space Rooms were very warm. Parking on street outside. Very warm room. Dinner at hotel was very ordinary. We left a hair dryer, rang them later they promised to ring back, never did. There is no way to contact reception from the room? Could of done with more pillows!!.
