Everything was excellent. I was there with my girlfriend and happy to stay there again. Special thanks to manager of the hotel. He was absolutely friendly and cares about us (he recommended to take hotel umbrella because rain could be later and he organized wonderful mini bus tour for us to the lakes). Breakfast also excellent (you could order classic English, continental breakfast and even salmon), wi-fi, TV provided but not so interesting because nature outside is very beautiful.
the rural location of the guest house was superb, we stayed in room 3 witch was excellent..we opened the curtains each morning to cows feeding and sheep dogs chasing around the adjacent farm..it was lovely to see. the staff went out of their way to help us and gave us advice before our days walking. The guest house was more than we expected as we have stayed in quite a few in the lakes and this has to be the best so far...we will almost certainly be back.
Everything. The accommodation was very comfortable, warm and clean with good facilities. Breakfast was fantastic every day. The staff were very welcoming and always helpful. The location was outstanding. Peace, tranquillity and space being abundant, and with the small town of Ambleside a few minutes walk away, which provides a selection of good restaurants for evening meals. We will return as there is so much more to explore.
The decor, furnishings, general comfort and breakfasts are excellently presented in this quiet Country House adjoining a working farm. Alcoholic drinks can be purchased from reception at reasonable prices but we found the 15 minute walk to Ambleside easy, even though it did rain on the way back. Ideal location for walking.

very friendly and comfortable very good
breakfasts
when we arrived early there was no problem and we were given some coffee and felt very welcome even though our room was not ready so we could leave our things safe while we went to the Langdales ie very accommodating.
Everything we wanted was catered for from the excellent breakfast to the DVD cupboard! We especially liked how clean and tidy it was/local information leaflets/location (beautiful)/warmth!/bathroom. A welcome relief from all the cold hotels you get these days!.
We stayed in room 1 and it was beautiful with a roll top bath, extremely comfortable 4 poster bed and sofa too. We went to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and there was a complimentary bottle of wine in the room. Would definately visit again.
The Hotel is beautifully clean, very high standard of rooms, brilliant bathrooms, with fabulous bathroom products in the room.the breakfasts are excellent. the owners are nice people, making the hotel a fabulous place to stay for a break in the lakes.
Very friendly staff and beautiful views, with amazing views an only a
short drive to town, breakfast was excellent with a large choice of
meals to have, well cooked and plenteous. Would for sure come back, oh
bathroom products are gorgeous! Thanks.
Cleanliness, above average bedding, breakfast choice and quality of food. Bathroom facilities. Tourist information available. Gardens and beautiful views. Host and hostess who were not intrusive but available and on hand at all times if needed.
We had an amazing stay! Great room with a nice and modern bathroom (great shower!) All the products in the bathroom are local and eco-friendly (not tested on animals!) Very nice people who run the place and a lovely breakfast :).
I booked for our 30th anniversary as a surprise for my wife. She absolutely loved everything. The bedroom, the bathroom, the big bath and the four poster bed. We intend to go back later in the year. We would highly recommend.
Quiet, with sounds of the sheep bleating and birds singing a nice change from city noise. Great old house, nice room with comfortable bed. Great breakfast. Ambleside a pretty village, with lots of cafes, and picture theatre.
The guest house felt really cosy and the staff was always approachable and friendly giving excellent advices for walks around the area. I would strongly recommend it for a get away retreat or for people who love hiking.
Everything, great room, comfortable bed, fantastic bathroom and shower, lovely views, and gardens.Excellent breakfasts with lots of choice.friendly staff and owners.Secure parking.A great location,we will visit again.
sooooo clean and liked the idea of the DVD library, and bottled water in the room was a nice touch also information on local walks in the guide was fantastic very thoughtful hosts we had a lovely time, thankyou.
Beautifully presented country house with great gardens that attract many wild birds, great views from bedroom, in a very quiet countryside location yet only a 15 minute stroll into the centre of Ambleside.

We stayed 1 night but would loved to stay longer. The accommodation was
excellent, and staff couldn't have been nicer or done more, nothing
was to much trouble. Will definitely be going back.
The location and the wonderful views of the gardens and birds from the bedroom window. The quirky bathroom with the multi-coloured bath. The comfortable bed and chairs and tasteful decor.
Attention to detail. Little extras provided each day eg. Biscuits and water in room
Good choice for breakfast.
Clean comfortable room
Torch for walking back from Ambleside after dinner.
As soon as you walk into the Guest House you feel a sense of calm. The whole place felt comfortable, clean and relaxing. Recommended to anyone getting away from it for a few days.

fantastic breakfast, amazing gardens/grounds, in easy walking distance of Ambleside, buses, helpful staff. Beautifully decorated and modern facilities.
It's set in the most beautiful location. Everyone that works there is wonderful and friendly. Breakfast is delicious, the best I've had in a long time.
Just loved being out in the country yet not far from town
Beautiful setting with lovely gardens and enjoyed the feeling of the farm. Most impressive.
So good that I'm almost reluctant to recommend this little gem of a country house, as I don't want it to get booked-up. Can't wait to return.
Fabulous location -so peaceful yet only a short walk to Ambleside. Beautiful spacious rooms. Fantastic breakfast. Friendly helpful owners.
Amazing large comfortable room, really quiet, spotless. Great place to relax after a stressful week at work, wish I had stayed longer.

Very comfortable rooms, with great views. Lovely bathrooms, a luxury.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great location.
The pastoral setting also the peaceful location. The natural bathroom products and luxury bedding - and warm welcome.
There is only one thing to say about crow how and that is every thing from check in to check out is fantastic.
- It is 10 minutes away from the town centre and the road has lights
only half way out of town, so the other half is very dark.. Luckily
the hotel has a small torch that fits in the handbag and if you have
an iphone with a torch app you are saved!.
- Everything else was just fantastic.
that we didn't stay longer.
The only thing we did not like was having to leave and return to the pressure, noise, and confinement of daily life.
Yes, a dog did appear as we crossed the farm entrance but we stood firm and it soon got the message.
Nothing.
Nothing.
Nothing.
Nothing, but you need a car here as the guest house is a mile or so from the village, too far to walk for some.
I have nothing bad to comment about.
There wasn't anything we didn't like!.
was'nt too keen on the bacon, maybe just my own personal taste, too thick, and sausage too 'herby' poached egg was lovely also lights very bright in dining room, good job i never had a hangover ;-).
No problems to report.
The garden needed some work to make it truly wonderful.
Nothing to dislike.
Nothing.
I honestly can not think of any negatives at all.
Not seeing the owl!.
Nothing.
there was nothing i did not like.
our room over looked a cow shed and there was no view -disappointing as hoped to see over hills etc though we were offered another room but that was smaller. We decided to stick with the larger room.
Nothing.
Nothing.
A choice of pillows would have been good as the ones we had squashed into hard thin layers during the night.
