Due to a change in circumstances regarding attending an event in Widnes, we decided to make a return visit to the Cottage (previous stay in July 2013). Only booked mid afternoon for staying that evening. Phoned and enquired if we could arrive slightly later than the published time as we were travelling from Scotland.

What a lovely find in the nice village of Hale it was superb in every respect made very welcome .A lovely cosy and comfortable room with a very nice breckfast,exellent value for money.hope to return as our son is at liverpool University for the next two years .

Exterior looked not very appealing, but the newly refurbished room I stayed in was fantastic. I loved the attention to detail and the cleanliness which I really didn't expect. Lovely pub attached to it in an urban area with tesco extra opposite and take aways down the road. I got more than I expected and so was very happy with my stay. Bargain! -

My first impression was negative.I was wrong.I have never felt more at home in any hotel before.The frienleness of staff and other guests,including folk in the bar area could not have been better.I was made to feel very welcome and would choose the Pineaple as my first choice hotel in future.Thank you.

The Hotel or Hostel if you wish to call it that, was in a semi rural position but only 15 mins away from the centre of Chester. The room was in a row of chalets positioned around a garden to the rear was a wooded area with an abundance of rabbiits and squirrals the room itself was very clean and warm. Tea and coffe making facilities were provided.

Semi rural location surrounded by woods. Eco conscious ethics, sumptuous breakfast (and I understand the evening meals were beautiful), efficient staff, friendly atmosphere in the bar. This place was a real find.

On arrival you think it looks like a bad place to leave your car. On checking in the staff show how crime in the area is much lower than the town centre. We had a perfect view of the Mersey and watched the car ferry we were going to sail on arrive. Room was decorated lovely and bed really comfy. For the money we paid for a single night to save us

Room is big especially bathroom. The staff is friendly as well. Although the hotel are quite far from city center, the price of private taxi is so cheap, about 3 pounds to city center. That mean if you have 3 people, it will be 1 pound per person.

off at the railway station to save us getting a taxi when we left.

We got lost and when we rang the hotel Hayley went on google maps and very calmly directed us straight there, when we parked and came in she had the kettle on for a very welcome cuppa! While there was no food available a selection of take away menus where offered and cutlery, plates and napkins provided. Breakfast served by Dave the next morning and was delicous. The staff were accommodating and very friendly, and were able to arrange a late check-in at very short notice. The room was clean, comfortable and fitted with everything necessary. The hotel has great transport links, equidistant to Sandhills, Bank Hill, and Kirkdale stations.

It's a quiet, friendly and welcoming place to stay. Such love and care have gone into making everyone's stay a great one. The room was peaceful, well appointed and immaculately clean. The breakfast was excellent! Definitely the best place I have stayed in Chester, so look NO further than Lavender Lodge!!
