  Struan Hall is absolutely beautiful. It gives the experience of staying at a five star hotel at a fraction of the cost. The staff were very accomadating and provided me with tea and cakes on arrival which was very unexpected but very appreciated. Breakfast choice was vast with every preference catered for. The cost of this establishment is abso - Simply the best guest house we've stayed in! Perfect in every respect. Lovely proprietors. Beautiful decor, lovely setting. Every detail thought of, down to the presentation of the towels with neat "Struan Hall" bands, and the provision of a little tray of home-baked cakes. Gideon Bible in the room. This is a standard other guest houses should be striving for. Guest houses don't come better than this!!

  To get away from the day to day stress (work, looking after elderly relatives) my wife and I booked a Superior Double Room at the Lodge in the newly added hotel section. We were allocated room 3, with a superb view over the Aboyne Loch. We arrived late, so could not take advantage of the outdoor Jacuzzi with the snow over 2 inches deep :-). The ro... what people say » om had a super king-size bed, and was beautifully decorated with great ambiance (good Feng Shui). The ensuite shower room was very well appointed (new - Jean and Derick are the perfect hosts! We felt more like we were visiting old friends than staying at a B&B. Quiet, clean and comfortable. The perfect place to stay while exploring the castles in the region or on a fishing trip. Food is exceptional. This is one place we all agreed we would return to!
