Problems with the shower, I feel that instructions should have been given to work the taps, I know that sounds strange but I did have a problem!! The shower door very small, I imagine it could be a problem for some people, I am an Occupational Health Nurse and had done many things in connection for Health and Safety and I tend to look at these things! See you next year!!. the staff were attentive, the room was clean and well appointed and the food was excellent.

The rooms and bathrooms have always been very clean and a good size. The staff are friendly and food srved to me through room service was always very enjoyable.the hotel was was nice and modern inside. very clean and comfortable inside. facilities in the room. A convieniant location for the purpose of our trip, with local bus services available directly outside. A friendly staff member on reception and a comfortable and clean room. . . Second visit to the Summerhill and we shall be returning again in the future.I would recommend this hotel for a short stay if you like the location. My room was clean and had everything what needed. And upon checking in we found the room windows to be open, when it was minus2 outside??? We had the radiator on full, but at most it was luke warm. Noticed no staff on reception on three occasions when coming and goingfrom the hotel. Then had to wait about five minutes to leave because thereception desk was not staffed.Our room was quite warm. But I think we may have been able to adjust this ourselves, which we noticed the next day. The location of the hotel wasn't brilliant if you don't have a car. Its 3 miles from city centre with no much inferstructer around it. If you have a car, I hired one, then parking is on site and the Highlands are not too far. For some reason I never got a newspaper delivered to my room when I asked for one everyday! I got the newspaper when I went down to the front desk in the morning.There is no dedicated customer car park. The car park is behind the hotel and is shared with a few shops. the outside of the building needs refurbished. Staff not as courteous as I would have expexted. Far out of town, but on bus routes. Did not look at all inviting from the outside. outlook off putting at back on arrival -concerns on safety in car park. I didn't like the food that much, my wife found the food ok. Car park is behind the hotel in a shopping precinct and although it is covered by CCTV it is not exclusively for the hotel guests.Parking or lack of it. Location. Some road/street noise with the windows open, but it is in a city so I wouldn't expect much else. Vegetarian options looked limited on the restaurant menu, although there were a couple of choices and they looked good. The heating didn't work and several lights did not work. I only stayed one night so didn't really effect me too much. Have stayed several times and the heating usually does work.Location not brilliant and the term 'suite' is a bit of a misnomer. More of an upmarket bedsit but perfectly fine. Tight squeeze to get in and out of shower. The room I stayed in is close to the road and was noisy. brutal facade belies pleasant interior. 3/4 width bedspoilt excellent room. The address and the post code dont work in sat nav. Think this needs to be fixed as its hard to find the hotel otherwise. No breakfast included and rooms fairly small. Also strange location with parking in Iceland's carpark.The shower although new had it's problems. I turned it on and the handle came off in my hand!. Early morning alarm (6am) call that I did not order.I had a late check in time 11pm and had to wait a considerable time for someone to come to the front desk so that I could check in. I even tried phoning the hotel to try and get someone to come and answer the phone. Perhaps there could be a way of allerting staff when people are waiting at reception. The outside of the hotel and the area it was in let it down greatly. No towels. Car parking not very secure. when I first arrived, the bathrrom was not totally clean. however, in the other day, everything was fine. the hotel is not so near to the city centre, but there is a bus stop just in front of it, where you can reach the downtown in 15 min. The outside appearance of the hotel lets it down badly, area looks a little risky and the prices are too high for the location.
