  It was convenient for the major attractions of Sultanhamet. The staff were friendly and the facilities were fine. Great views of Hagia Sophia from the roof terrace. The breakfasts were excellent but the dinner menu was a bit dull so we only ate there once ; house wine not cheap either.The hamam was very good and was a great way to end a day of shop... what people say » ping.   Ideal location and excellent value/quality - the situation is good.. near to all historical places and also to the tramvay station.. and away from NOISE that's the most great thing about it. the terrace pool is amazing with a view of the sea and ferryboats crossing all the time,, it's realy nice hotel to stay in. 100% RECOMMENDED

  I've really enjoyed the stay in this hotel, one of the best and still new (just opened in mid Dec) ...The staff are very friendly despite the fact I had one small problem with one of the team but he apologized immediately as well as the Manager .   I recently spent 5 nights in this property whilst on business in Istanbul. I would completely agree with the majority of reviews here. The highpoints of the hotel are: a) Location - moments walk from all of the Old City attractions - Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Cistern, Grand Bazaar etc etc. It is also almost right on top of a tram line that will take... what people say » you to many of the other Istanbul attractions. b) Staff - they are friendly, efficient and funny. They actually engage with you as people rather than - In our opinion the this was the best possible place to stay in Istanbul. The views from the dining/breakfast room were stunning. While having breakfast, we could gaze at the Blue Mosque, the Aya Sophia, the sea of Marama and many other wonderful sights. In addition to this, the hotel was only a few minutes walk from the tram stop.   Location, comfort and breakfast - all faultless. Room 227 was indeed a superior room with a stunning sea view, plus tea/coffee facility. Female staff were incredibly helpful. Young male reception staff varied. Very happy to stay at Hotel Kalyon again.and thank you to all helpful and attentive staff! - Istanbul is eclectic, lively and definitely worth several days exploration! The staff were friendly and helpful whenever we requested anything. After leaving the hotel, when a problem arose, the reception staff were amazing and could not have done more to assist. The location was perfect to visit the main attractions in the city, which were within walking distance. It was also situated on the coast overlooking the Sea.
