I rested together with my mother. We were very happy with our stay. For us the location of the hotel was very successful. Just 5 minutes walk to the sea, where you can take a walk, get some fresh air. Also nearby is inexpensive cafe, sweet shop where you can sit and drink tea, shop of delicious foods with friendly seller, supermarket, park, police station and laundry. all reviews » In general lines, the hotel is great if what you look for is just a place to rest properly, grasp breakfast, having WiFi internet access 24 hours, and the possibility of making a hot drink while you check your mail at any time when you are back from strolling down that lovely city. Particularly the staff are always willing to help the more they can, and although their English is not so good, they always manage to get by. Special mention to Mehmet, who has been very attentive and of great suppor. The location is perfect for visiting the old city of Istanbul, very close to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, etc. There are also a lot of shops and small restaurants very close in which you can taste traditional Turkish food in a very 'authentic' way. The room was clean and big enough compared to what you might find in Istanbul for this money, bed very comfortable. Personnel is really nice, breakfast was simple, but enough for every morning. Location excellent close to sultanahmet area where most of Istanbul tourist spots are. I.e blue mosque, hagia Sophia, obelisk ,cemberlitas Jamal, grand bazar, topkapi palace. Metro to spice market, taksim area, ferry boat to Asian side, etc. Lots of affordable eating places as well as expensive seafood ones. Close to gra.nd hotels as well, little shops, arasta bazar is open seven days a week! Grand bazar closed on Sundays. It was a very nice hotel close to all sites at Sultanahmet. For the light-sleepers it might be disturbing the fact that the first prayer is at 5 in the morning and you can hear it perfectly loud and clear as there are mosques all around the hotel. The room was ok, as presented in photos, however there were some problems with the flooding water in the shower and with the windows which were not properly fixed and did almost no soundproofing. Ercan inn is undergoing major renovation. It is on the second floor and stairs pretty narrow and steep altho, staff waits outside to carry your luggage for you. Carpet needs to be changed. Rooms are bright and big, bathrooms clean and nice. are there is no view of the sea Fr breakfast terrace, just neighbors. Breakfast is good and lady waiting on you very friendly and serviceable. Difficult to find. Entrance could be more visible and inviting. Winding stairs may be difficult after a drink or two!. Breakfast could be more nutritious. In the morning you can wake up the muezzin's call to prayer at from the nearby mosque. Not very good breakfast and not friendly staff in the kitchen. The shower can be improved. The manager offered us a pick up service to the airport extremely expensive. Fortunately we didn't take it. Far from sultanahmed square. It was hard to find the hotel because there was nowhere a sight. There was problems with the Internet connection, the signal wasn't enought strong. There was a humidity problem in the room we had to connect a dehumidifier (that was provided in the room) all the time. Also the air conditioner it didn't work properly so all the water from the machine drops inside the room and over the wardrobe. But I have to say even with this litel things I will come back to the same hotel. It is acually not a hotel its like an old villa converted into a hotel I was shocked the first day but then got used to it It is located under a hill and very deficult to climb up to reach the historical part Very dificult to walk up the small stairs Breakfast was every day the same for 14 days never changed a thing Very poor neighborhood. Small rooms (as advertised though); slow wifi - but fine for emails and so on. It's a little difficult to find and the interior is a little congested. they gave us double bedroom and they merged the beds, the bathroom sink and toilet seat were not stable, breakfast is poor little bit. Tiny rooms, very noisy. Washroom was too narrow.
