Just back from Istanbul, where were staying in Mataraci Konak with friends for 4 days. The location is just fabulous, close to all major sites.
Little Haya Sofia is next to the hotel and was nice surprise for us.
Lots of restaurants and cafes around, but the hotel is staying on small quite street, so this doesn’t bother you at all.

As a group of friends we absolutely loved the staff, they made our stay even better. The location was perfect, a 10 minute walk and you're right in the middle of Sultanahmet which is next to the Blue mosque, Topkapi palace, Hagia sophia and the Grand bazaar. The staff was very nice and helpful. As I wasn't happy with the room in the basement, because it was too dark for me, I could change without any problem to a very nice room upstairs which was sunny with windows all around and sea view. Both rooms were clean with comfortable beds and with everything well functioning.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They went out of their way help me with a minor medical problem that I had. The location is perfect for seeing the 3 main attractions in Istanbul. Lovely view from the terrace where they serve B'fast. Staff helped us with tour bookings and gave good advise on how to accomplish everything in a short time.

Very convenient location five minutes walk from the Blue Mosque, but also easily accessible by taxi unlike many hotels in Sultanahmet. Reasonably priced shuttles for both airports are also nearby. On our way to Kathmandu we stayed one night at Istanbul City Guest House. We came in late and was met buy Emre the manager. After throwing in our bags we went out for a beer with him. Very nice guy. Afterwards he treated us drinks at the balcony. Next time in Istanbul I will definitely stay there. No question about that. Good location. Walking distance to all highlights. Airport transport and so on... Brilliant!

This is a fantastic hotel if you want to stay in the Sultanahmet area of Istanbul. The hotel is a few minutes walk to all the sights and in a quiet street. The staff are all excellent and very kind and helpful. The breakfast is delicious and the view on the terrace is great. The rooms are comfortable and the cleaning staff are meticulous! Ask for a room with a water view if you can!
