My fiancee and I stayed at burirasa for 5 nights, after a more-than-1-day- long trip. We used the transfer they organize from the Samui airport to the beach of the Buri Rasa. It costs pretty much twice the standard (1500 THB/pax), but it is worth!! Take a bus, then a speedboat, then get the room. Great. The location is perfect for people who want to rest and forget the caos. There is a limited night life, even if the streets beyond the hotel is nice to see. Food is good and the fish BBQ is grea.

When you arrive at the port and want to go to the hotel you can take a share taxi for 150 bhat each. a room with seaview, but were upgraded to a beach room (beach right in front of the room, sea about 10 meters away). Very nice beach, breakfast and restaurant right at the beach (also 10 meters from the sea). Very good prices for massage, etc. food massage for about 350 Bhat, 8,5€ for one hour! Great! Good food at the restaurant! Very resona. My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in January 2013. On check-in, we were greeted with a cold tea and cold washcloth infused with lemongrass. Nice touch. We paid extra for a beachfront room and were sort of thrown off by the number of beach chairs out front of the sliding glass doors. It wasn't an issue however, since they planted trees to block chairs from being put right out front of the beachfront rooms. Only room for 2 chairs. The room was very nice and cleaned 2 times a day. We stayed one week on Koh Phangan. First 3 days in Haad Rin to enjoy its nightlife and 3 additional days in the north-east of the island at Buri Rasa where you will find one of Koh Phangan's best beaches. This hotel really outclassed the hotel we had on Haad Rin (Cocohut), for roughly the same price. We loved our stay at buri rasa. Hotel is not a big one however you can feel personal approach for guests. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Food was excellent with great variety. Hotel is new and very clean. Many local restaurants close by. We stayed there for 3 night only because we wanted to safe time on travelling to other places but actually you can book all the trips at buri rasa almost the same price. The staff were always extremely pleasant and helpful (especially Banana). The location was great. Right on the beach, close to reasonably priced restaurants, and very little development in the area so it was nice and peaceful and uncommercialised. The breakfast was amazing - lovely fresh fruits and fruit juices and an abundance of choice. It was our favourite place we stayed in Thailand. We absolutely loved the Buri Rasa koh phangan. We were very sad to leave it as it was the most relaxing place to stay. The beachfront room we chose was well worth paying the extra for, with sun beds right outside your room reserved for you. The resort is located at a very nice beach and the ocean front rooms with balcony are awesome (take those, not the ones on the beach as you won't have any view there). I believe that the location makes the difference but, many guests were in the restaurants along the street. I suggest to promote one dinner for guest at cheaper prices during their stay. We had the bbq for two and was great (1700 thb), so, create a promotional thai-dinner. Just to fidelize the customers. Only the price for transfer to the port of had rin was a bit too expensive - they offered us the shuttle for 1800 bhat. After going to the village we found a reliable taxi which brought us there for just 800 bhat. To be fair we have to say that the hotel also offers shuttle to the port of Thong Sala for a good price. This shuttle wasnt good for us, because it goes only 3 times/day and we had to leave very early. Higher price point but worth it. A bit far from the main locations on the island but for some it may be advantage if you like less crowdy places. Distant village. Difficult (and pricey) to reach even by taxi because the road is uphill almost all the time and has no asphalt covering at some parts. Shops are expensive compared to haad rin and thong sala. Village is tiny, not much places to go. No active sports apart from water scooter. It is quite hard to reach the hotel from Koh Phangan's center, the road to Thong Nai Pan Noi some places almost doesn't exist, taxi from center costs around 1000 bath, but you can use hotel's taxi twice a day for 300 bath per person. The resort is very small and quite cut off as you can only reach it by a 40 min drive through bumpy dirt tracks. The resort only has a small selection of food offerings but the buri rasa resort is a lovely beach front hotel and one of the nicest parts. Some of the restaurant staff were not as friendly as the front desk staff which sadly made the overall experience not as positive as it could have been. They charge 15Euros / person for the shuttle service that should be free. This is ridiculous and leaves a guest that would have otherwise liked his stay thinking the hotel management is nothing but greedy. It adds 10% to the bill easily and no other hotel on the island does that!. The hotel on general is beautiful and enough for what we needed, however I must say we had pictured it more luxurious when looking at the pictures. Swimming pool nice but not by the sea side. They have complementary kayaks but only 2 (definitely not enough) and no snorkeling equipment. The location is remote and it is difficult to reach other parts of the island. There are decent amount of restaurants in the village so for us that wasn't an issue. No free pick up service from the pier. And very high charge for transport I organized by the hotel. We stayed there for three nights and we liked, but we moved since the area is pretty small and started to get bored. There is nothing I didnt like... Flew to Sira Thani then transfers with bus/boat/minivan..it's a bit of a trek to get to but so worth it when you get there. Quicker via Samui but a lot more expensive. Maybe a few more beach chairs. We stayed here in Sep/Oct and found that the local restaurants/bars closed around midnight. sunbeds a bit close together the music from the restaurant during the day meant it wasn't as peaceful as it could be given the location. the pool was out of use for more than half of our stay, filled with dirty brown water. Two dislikes, but not so much to do with the hotel. The hotel is on the east side of the island. That means that after around 13.00, you don't have sun on the beach (depending on the season, this was in December). In December the sea is quite rough and no good for swimming. The village is a bit remote but no problem. And keep in mind that early December is still "cloudy" season. nothing!. Ferry was late, and the shared taxi was not waiting. No information from Buri Rasa, I had to call to arrange a new transport Privat transport from and to the pier too expensive, you can get one for half the price next door No iPod docking/soundsystem in the room Internet is slow and unstable The pool is small and not very appealing. Nothing to dislike, would certainly recommend. The restaurant In the evening is a little bit overpriced in comparison to what you get. The restaurants outside the resort are better. Real sausages for breakfast would have been a real nice touch as frankfurters just don't do it or me. As you can see there is not much to complain about!. The pool is tiny, overlooked by lots of rooms and dirty!! Such a shame as everything else about the hotel is perfect. If the pool area is important to you don't bother with this hotel. If you are using this hotel for full moon party it is about 40 mins away. They do provide shuttle service for about 250 b but if you moss this a private taxi costs 1500b.although it was lovely to go back and relax the night after full moon and you will not be disappointed. Nothing... Gym facilities were lacking and most equipment didn't work or was broken. all room are missing a bath! night activity like a bar or a small dance bar would be a grate expentation for get togthers. missing some sea sports servises like - SUP / WINDSURF / SHNORKELINK only two times a day for speedbaots to samui. Long taxi ride to pier and party beaches (ca 45minutes). Location from boats was about 45 minutes so taxi was expensive as we were travelling as a couple. The terrible drain smell at reception. A bit far from the main Koh Phangan nightlife and full moon parties.

The property provides a scheduled speedboat transfer between Koh Samui and Koh Phangan at an additional charge.
