Hi all, we've just enjoyed four nights at the B-Lay Tong, in Phuket, celebrating a birthday. The location was great provided you want to be on Patong Beach with all the people and activity that brings, that said it's positioned toward the end of the beach road so not as frantic as further down. It's hard to fault the facilities generally with generously sized rooms and fabulous staff too. We stayed in a Spa Suite which was suitably massive with a sort of retro modern feel while my partner's mum.
all reviews » On the edge of Patong, so close to the shopping area but at the same time away from the annoying crowds. The pool access from the front porch of the Violin rooms. The shower booth is all glass so you can just open the curtains and see the room while you shower Easy access to everything arond it (shopping streets, Jungceylon Mall, Fantasea, Simon Cabaret, Flying Hanuman, ...). Our pool access room was really good, clean and comfortable. The staff was very kind. Main pool was also nice and relaxing. Breakfast was ok for a European. (In fact good for Thai standarts but limited cheese and tomato.) Finally, hotel has a good location, near the beach and walking distance to Patong. This resort is absolutely amazing from the start to the end. The room is spacious and features a lot of facilities. The decor is very modern and seems to be new. The pool is out of this world. Is also very nearby the main attractions of Patong and steps away from the beach. Contemporary design hotel rooms with access to the pool. Friendly and helpful staffs. The location is just right front of the beach, far out from busy Patong night life. The (infinite) pool is great with free of charge wifi connection. Very close to the beach. The famous restaurant No.9 is just around the corner. Very quiet. The swimming pool near our room is only available for the guests in 1st floor. The shower room very nice. There was very good service and nice and helpful personel. I liked staying there. In the restaurant very good food. I can recomended that hotel-every think was wanderful!. Location is good (begining of Patong Beach) Near to the Patong center (20 minutes by walking, 5 minutes by taxi) Across the road Patong beach. Staying in a Spa Suite immediately above the hotel's restaurant and the street it could be quite noisy - the room should have been double glazed. The towels were small, thin and scratchy - this not appropriate for a 5star establishment especially paying for a suite. The only thing is that I would loved if the hotel had a private beach, but most hotels in Patong don't so it's ok. There is nothing to do at the hotel when it is raining. And it rains a lot. The only thing that I think it can be improved is the breakfast. The restaurant is really dark and the food is not outstanding. No words. A little far from the city center. The main swimming pool is a little dirty because we can see some rubbish and oil on the water. And when we woke up in the morning, we saw there were fried chicken wings in our balcony and in the swimming pool, which are disgusting. The room slippers were used where you'd expect new from a hotel of this level Too many mosquitos in the room. Solo traveler's are not allowed to have guest in there room , but if you speak to the reservation manager they do allow guests then after they give their id on the reception . The staff should be briefed about this by the reservation manager, as it can be a bit annoying when the reception calls and tells you that guest are not allowed in the room . The hotel is starting to look old particularly wood work areas. the check-out was a bit early at 12:00. I was told my 'pool access' room was not available due to the rain so i was 'upgraded' to a room with a jacuzzi. I didn't want a jacuzzi - i wanted private pool access. Clearly they had overbooked and it was only when I pushed them that they admitted that was the case. In fairness I was offered free breakfast for the duration of my stay but i wish 1) they hadn't overbooked in the first place and 2) they had just told me the truth. Certain rooms are located far from the lobby, Its not that bad though. We had a hot tub room and it was a bit dirty but I'm being picky. The elevator was not working when we arrived. The WiFi was not as strong as expected. A very small gym. A bit long walking distance to the main Patong area or restaurant. A little too close to the noisy street. little bit far to walk to centre - hotel could offer shuttle service. Poor ac in the restaurant : the air was very heavy at breakfast. No private beach No service to the patong center Breakfast is bad Rooms walls are thin Beds are old and not comfortable Rainy days we can't swim at the pool Humidity very high all clothes are always wet High priced. It was the most uncomfortable bed i have ever slept in & there was mould in the shower and hand basin. You wouldn't expect this at a 3 star hotel let alone a 5 star designer. When we planned this trip we thought this resort would be the highlight of accomodation.... we were both sadly disappointed.
