Very nice hotel, 500 metres from the clock tower and night market. You could go walking with no problem. Breakfast is simple but goog. The recepcionist recommend us to do a one day tour with a private taxi that works with them ( Chian's taxi) that was excellent, he speaks english really well . We went to every point of interest (not white and black temple....that was our first half day) for 2300 bath both of us, starting 8.30 am and finishin 6pm. not including admision fees and lunch. We leave.
all reviews » The location was great, close to the Night Market and within walking distance from the Bus Depot and the center of the city, but far enough away to be quiet! The free breakdfast was wonderful! We discovered a great Tour agency-very honest and open to making tailor made trips. The Agency is called AA Fair Tour located 2 blocks east of the town clock tower. Talk to Kit-he seemed to be the boss! We highered a driver to go to the Golden Triangle-and stopped at both the White and Black Temples-a MUS. super hotel with great staff. Big rooms in lovely setting. Room facilities are 5 star standard with full toilettries, hot, powerful shower in modern bathroom. Lots of space and well equiped room with free wi-fi and 2 English news channels - one from Japan and a 2nd from Australia. Multi- choice breakfast including cereals, jams, breads, joghurts, fruits and eggs to order served with masses of bacon! Help yourself to as much coffee or teas as you like. The hotel is clean and facilities are good including free wifi- in Australian dollars the hotel is cheap but in Chiang Rai very expensive compared to what else is around- in saying that I would def stay again, breakfast was good, it was quiet and about a 10 min walk from the town bit which is good. There is no lift but staff help with the bags. Super friendly, supportive, efficient staff, from management, reception and all the way to restaurant and cleaning staff. Gorgeous, clean, modern, extra spacious rooms in keeping with the local Lanna style. Full buffet breakfast but eggs and bacon can be made to order. We did have to wait for the hot water to come through for the shower but it did come at last and was hot and strong. Large bed, very comfortable. Stayed 7 nights enjoyed every one. The staff are very helpful. They make good arrangement for transport and taxi tour. The taxi driver is an excellent tour guide and he makes good photo stops for us. As we were in Chaing Rai for only two nights,we just wanted accommodation reasonably comfortable. Your hotel was more than this....we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was perfect, extremely clean. Staff was helpful. Even if it is not in the center they have a free shuttle service at night. Breakfast only just adequate and lack of evening facilities a problem with no restaurants within easy walking distance. nothing. Breakfast was uninspiring and fairly boring ( to me ). Bathroom could have been cleaner but ok. Mosquitoes. No area to sit and have a drink. no swimming pool. Not really that close to restaurants and bars. Walkable, but difficult to walk there after dark. Old rooms that need a good make over and the amount of very loud annoying noise from the guests up stairs, when they continually dragged the chairs over the floor at times during the night, it actually was loud enough to wake you from your sleep. The room I booked was not available. No one knew about my booking even though I gave them the printed reservation. At first I was given a room that was not the one I booked and when I pointed out that, they gave me a better room but not the one I payed for. Staff at lobby not helpfull, they did not want to change money for the taxi. Really simple room and not clean. After 2 minutes shower the bathroom full of water. I stayed there 2 nights and the second night I had to kill 2 big cockroaches.
