Great stay it did everything to make our stay most pleasant. Staff were wonderful.

Bathrooms were too small and difficult for elderly people to shower as it was also a bath .

The Empress Hotel staff may very possibly be the most helpful and friendly we have ever encountered. Trouble with rental car? They helped us first trying to start it themselves, then they called the rental car agency on our behalf and stayed with us until everything was fixed. Every day it seemed that the hotel and restaurant staff were going out of their way to be of help.

The room is of good size, clean, new and well decorated. It gives a really cosy, chilling, and romantic feeling. The service was great. Roses, chocolates and chips were left on our pillow at night with a goodnight note.

Everything was great but if there was a balcony in the room, it would be excellent.

it is really beyond my expectation, the free elaborately prepared dinner ,the souvenir on the pillow,surprised us many times,the rooms are tidy and the staffs are hospitable and most of all ,on checking out day when i told the reception that my daughter had a fever and request to keep the room for another half day and i can pay the fee accordingly ,they offered me the service of no charge and told me i can keep it until my leave,that is really thoughtful and helpful to us!

Lovely service in restaurants and great value. Good location quite close to centre but far enough away to be quiet. Good travel services for excursions.

Nice swimming pool but gym is older and limited equipment. Chiangmai is now so busy with traffic and pollution.

The gym gets full morning sun, and the aircon is very low. It made training very uncomfortable. The bed was quite hard.

Over the last years, I repeatedly travelled to Thailand. Each time I come to Chiang Mai, I stay at the Empress Hotel- in my opinion, it grants the advantages and conveniences you expect from a 4-star-hotel: spacious, well furnished rooms, perfectly equipped with air-condition, bathroom, fridge and television. The hotel staff is well trained, courteous, helpful and friendly, always prepared to assist with information and advice the foreigners may need. The restaurant offers excellent buffets, particularly at breakfast and lunch. I never found reason for complaint. It has always been a pleasure to spend a night or even several weeks at this hotel. At future journeys to Chiang mai, I shall certainly stay at the Empress Hotel again. At the reception, Ms. Kai, and Ms. Ta; was particularly helpful- their good knowledge of English made conversation easy and was appreciated by all foreign guests.

Attentive and friendly staff. On arrival were told we were to be given a complimentary dinner for staying over 5 nights. In our room we had fresh fruit and chocolates. At our dinner we were given presents as well as flowers and extra starters and sweets as well as the buffet. Breakfast was a good selection. Room was big with extra wide bed and comfortable. Airport travel was arranged for us, so all up a very pleasant stay.

The rooms are BIG! Really nicely appointed and each day we received a gift! How nice is that! The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. The view from the window was great. The curtains were also good to block out light for sleep ins. The staff were SUPER friendly and helpful!!! Best EVER! I thank you so much. The location was handy to the night market and restaurants and street eating locations. Also the hotel provided excellent tours. The pool area was very pleasant and relaxing. The breakfast was superb and the staff ever so helpful and friendly. The air conditioning was effective. Highly recommended.

I didn't like the bathroom. It was TINY, small and poky. When the shower was on, the water simply flowed all over the floor and caused a flood in the bathroom. It is the design of the bath/shower combination. I recommend get rid of the bath and have a shower recess!!! The cleaning was only so so..I could not detect any clean smelling cleaning products used...The old shower curtain smelled bad. Please fix up the bathrooms and this hotel would be a total winner!

Extremely well located away from main road, so no noise, still about 300 mtrs from shops and about 15 minutes walk from the busy an exciting night market. Breathtaking views of the city and mountains from my room 1603. Excellent high speed wifi Internet everywhere in hotel. Extra friendly staff all around. Loved them. V.clean hotel. Complementary fruits and flowers on arrival and the room smells like heaven. Natural Flower bouquets everywhere in the room. a total of 6 bouquets in my two bedroom suite. every night two roses and a chocolate on every bed. Complementary water refilled ev.day, Compl. Tea and coffee, daily. Stuff in the minibar r v.cheap. Loved the hotel a great deal

Guest Computers aging software, only office viewer no editing Although 3 tvs in suite, Limited tv channels. None for kids Compared to many other 4 star hotels in Thailand, breakfast bought limited but still nice. Dinner buffet could be upgraded for a class level. V. Limited food especially for Muslims. No halal food signs shown in restaurant.

Brisk 10 minute walk to night market. Excellent breakfast choice. Staff very diligent, friendly and always lots of staff on duty. Free water and chocolates every day. Reception area and front of hotel look great.

Rooms a bit dated with old style TV's and shower in bath style. Air con units are old and loudish.

The place had a great feel to it, all the staff were always cheerful and willing to help. It was a nice touch to turn down the bed each evening and leave a treat and a flower. Pool area was good and breakfast filling.

Since I am tall it would be nice to reorganize the length of the shower. I had to sit down to wash my hair. But that is really the only thing I can come with. Again, I loved my stay. I recommend it to everyone!

Well planned spacious bedroom. Location was good for restaurants, massage and tuk-tuks. Hotel was major transit camp but was well managed by delightful staff. Breakfasts were really good, plenty of choice

Single pool was far too small for size of hotel. Food and beverages were expensive and quoted on menus net of a 10% service charge and 7% VAT. Final bills were much more than anticipated !

We liked everything about the hotel, the decor the staff, the breakfast was outstanding , the pool and sun terrace quite happy for you to take 2 towels each as the sunbeds could get hot the room was large and very comfortable

The only small criticism was no safe in the room and they offered this at reception. But as we were leaving we talked to other guests who had them in the room and the hotel were fitting them floor by floor (we were on the top 17 floor)

Very friendly staff. Free wifi with strong signal. Great breakfast. Very comfortable room.

The hotel charges for transfer from the airport much more than local taxi price. They quoted for two people 180 bht while we paid 120 bht to a local taxi. Just walk to the domestic terminal (the other side of the airport building) and take a taxi from there.

the restaurant space was so small and their breakfast was not including any HALLAL food! In addition, so many mosquitos was there in the salad/food. Also there was no free internet in rooms.
