Location is excellent! Close to restaurants and shops yet very quiet. Beautiful, comfortable rooms and common areas. The staff was very gracious and friendly, always eager to help. all reviews » The room was really spacious and very cosy. It was so cosy that we didn't feel like leaving the room at times. The staff were very friendly. On check out day, the bellhop, Neng, was so sweet to help us look for a tuk tuk when he learnt that we were checking out at 2pm. To top that, the manager of the Front Desk offered us a free tansfer to the airport. Such actions showed their care for the guests. Kudos to their excellent services!. This hotel was gorgeous!! I stumbled upon it on letsbookhotel.com and I was lucky I did because it was beautiful. The website was tricky to find (www.dechaihotel.com). Fantastic location. 5 minute walk from the main gate and 10 -15 minutes walk to the Night Bazaar. The tuk tuk ride from the Bazaar to the hotel was about 5 minutes and only 80 baht which at present is $2aud. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. It was so lovely. De Chai Hotel is an excellent hotel option in Chiang Mai. The hotel is well situated and is within walking distance of both the night bazaar and the Saturday and Sunday markets in the old city. Still, if you only want a massage without the frills of slippers and tea you can get a good one for very little money across the road. Not much. The standard buffet breakfast was not very appetizing (although the cooked bfast was good). The shower seemed to fluctuate from hot to cold but not enough for me to gripe about. Nothing. Perhaps the Hotel is quite small, but you've got all required to have a beautiful stay. Pool was too cold. They didn't pick us up from the airport when they said they would. Poor internet connection in the room. Very basic breakfast. Pool is too cold and always in the shaddow. But this is really the only thing we would complain.. We could not close the shades of the window completely so the sun came in very early Breakfast was poor. Extremely noisy air conditioner. Couldn't keep it on at night as too load to sleep. Hotel advertised and had in their brochure that there was a roof top gym. No such thing exists. Nothing really... Nothing. Breakfast room is tiny. No complaints :).
