What people say
Teak Garden Resort - Chiang Khong.
From the road this hotel looks basic, however when inside it is very nice. Set in lovely gardens, the rooms are modern and very clean and well appointed. We dined in their restaurant overlooking the Mekong River. It was a beautiful setting. Dinner was also accompanied by a small group playing lovely Lao music. The food was extremely good as was the wine. This is a great place to stay. all reviews »
A comfortable modern hotel set in garden sourrounds overlooking the
Mekong River. Spotlessly clean and very friendly helpful staff. Free
transport to the nearby river port and crossing to Laos. Good food in
restaurant, except breakfast.
Fabulous views, great staff, great location on Mekong River. Unhesitatingly recommended.
Location was ideal - we were staying for one night before crossing the
border to Houay Xai in Laos, to take the slow boat to Luang Prabang. The
hotel dropped us off at the immigration checkpoint for no additional
charge. They also had breakfast on offer from 6:30am, which meant we had
plenty of time to eat before crossing the border at 8am.
Bungalo style room with a beautiful view over the Mekong river. restaurants close by.
Cooked breakfast (eggs etc) is served cold!.
Nothing to dislike.
The room was expensive for the size and standard and we were charged
~$20usd for an extra bed, which was a basic stretcher. There were four
of us in the room but only three pillows provided. I hadn't realised
it until we were going to bed so just made do. We ate dinner at the
restaurant for convenience sake, and the food was pretty awful. We
should have eaten the street food on offer. There was some awesome fried
chicken and whole grilled fish just down the road.
There was no warm water.
breakfast was a little bit poor and staff do not speak English. when leaving they first want to inspect the rooms. Strange!.
