I think the Continent Hotel Bangkok is an excellent hotel with superb staff, facilities and in a great location. I stayed oer for 3 nights before travelling to Koh Samui for a wedding.
It's right on Sukhumvit road and a few minutes away from Asok station on the BTS (skytrain), so getting around is very easy, plus it's a few minutes walk away from Terminal 21 and other places.

This is a hidden gem in the heart of busy Bangkok. It is situated in a small street off a main street in the old town of Bangkok.
