The staff was very helpful and friendly. Charlie speaks perfect English, which is also helpful.
The hotel was off of the main road but very quietly recessed. It's far enough from the very touristy area to feel authentic (and is cheaper) but you will need a 25 minute walk or 50 baht for a tuk tuk.
Had immediate hot water, free wifi and a solid A/C unit. For the price, it is a great value.
Charlie and Jeab are perfect hosts! We felt really welcome, they helped us with anything. Room is big and clean. Great shower. Good wifi. Location is also very good. Far from the noise but still close enough to the beach. Dvd's at reception is also a big plus. Thank you for everything! We recommend everybody to stay at Baan Taveesri.all reviews »
Charlie and his wife, and his dog carrot were such great hosts! Their hospitality made it such a homely place to stay in. The facilities were sufficient. Location was great, near the happening ao nang, but away in a quiet lane. Just take a tuptup down for 20 baht per person or simply walk if you have time!.

inexpensive restaurant next door.

The only issue we had was with the bathroom. It had some mold showing in the grout and the lighting was dim.
The only negative is that the location is quite a walk from the beach.
15 minutes. That said, it's only a $1.50 and 2 minute tuk tuk ride
to the beach. The money you save at the hotel is worth this slight
inconvenience.
