The Wonstar Hotel Ximen 2 is located within walking distance of the mrt, which you can take to all the sights. The staff was very helpful, though some staff understood little English. We traveled to the Temples, Night Markets and Hot Springs from the hotel by mrt. Near the end of our stay we found that a large area of small lanes within blocks of the Wonstar 2 Hotel became a Night Market for clothing that was more upscale, than the other markets. No complaints. there is a strange smell from the lift lobby staircase, not sure is food smell or otherwise. The queen / king size beds are actually 2 super single beds combined into one. Sleeping as a couple has a dividing line in between. Same daily breakfast menu. Room carpet has slight smell, perhaps, it was not chemical clean regularly. The breakfast spread lacks variety, was the same for 4 straight days. Though, we enjoyed the porridge for breakfast, they should try to have different spread everyday. Wished they had an iron that we could borrow. breakfast doesnt change all the same during the 3 days stay. i ate breakfast only for 2 days. no dresser/mirror in the bedroom area there is enough space on the walls to at least hang a mirror. It requires 15 min walk from Ximending MRT station to the hotel. We are assigned a room near the fire exit. The exit sign is still on when we switched off the lights. The room is a bit dusty and a bit small which makes it uncomfortable especially when my toddler girl is sick. Didnt like the breakfast food but good enough for a budget hotel.
