Lovely hotel, perfect location but the staff was a standout. All of them were genuine and helpful. In particular the concierge, Ishaq Gardizy, was amazing. I found myself with the opportunity to travel to Geneva for CERN open days and was in an unplanned rush of sorts. He was excellent at helping me get where I needed to be when I needed to be. On my way out I was sleepy and left my music player. Within days of arriving back in NYC he'd sent it. This is customer service. I will be back.
all reviews » The room I booked, though expensive, has the value. The overall feeling of interior, river & city view are excellent. Hotel location is also good. The machine that provides fresh orange juicy for breakfast is outstanding. The adjustable bed is considerate. In-room Wi-fi is now available & free ( it was not ). The Storchen, with its home like atmosphere, is clearly my favorite hotel in Zurich.The lovely location on the border of the Limmat River, with a wonderful view on the old town, river and the snow covered mountains at the far end of lake Zurich. The perfect place for a relaxing stay. Splendid! The perfect combination of atmosphere, elegance and comfort. Marvellous location, excellent service and delicious food. The tourist guide book printed by the hotel himself has a lot of room to improve (almost useless), & there is no other city maps provided, we need to get 100% city information via Google. That we could not stay longer. Nothing. I thought the decor was a little outdated but it did not detract from my overall hotel experience. Size of room. Couldn't keep room temp to normal either freezing or too warm. No spa inside the hotel. But affiliated with a very good one close to the hotel. television controls a little complicated !. Only being able to stay one day. Having to pay for news tv coverage. Food outlets and limited menu to order from room service. Not this time. we were very disappointed. Our room was stuffy and the staff were stuffy. Too uncomfortable to sleep so we called down for help. Grouchy guy played with nobs but nothing changed so was a stuffy sleepless night. We expected alot more for $700 a night. check in staff, reception staff, concierge, no gymnasium or spa, old over-priced rooms, horrible energy in the hotel.
