I really enjoyed our stay at Besso and intend to stay there again. The staff is really friendly. The hotel is clean and near to the station. I had my dogs with me and it was a pleasant stay for all of us. The friendliness of the staff and their willingness to help. The small circulating fan in the room was also helpful. The hotel is not fancy. However, it is value for money.
all reviews » Good location near town centre and lake front. Hotel had parking. Hotel met budget and satisfied all needs in the group. I liked the breakfast menu and the service at the kitchen. Great stopover ready to catch the Bernina Express Bus the next morning as it's close to the train station. We had a double and a triple room on the same floor, so had our own space but were near our grown up children. the hotel is near train station and city center ( walking distance ) and although next to a busy street no noise in the room. good parking but extra pay. The Owner was amazing person and the location was just 2 mins from station. Location to railway station very good. Budget hotel. location to train station is good. Location. Big room, conveniece. not much. Nothing. The street sounds may affect those who are sensitive to such noise. Staff, whilst helpful, had no idea about activities happening in the town. Lugano Jazz Festival was starting the night we arrived and all they could say was something happening in the town. I would expect the reception to be all knowledgeable in a town centre. The fans are tiny, they are ineffective and insufficient for warm days. Traffic noise from Besso. very soft bed and a little noisy. A little bit noisy at night due to a traffic. Walking from railway station is far and difficult. Breakfast is so poor!. Everything is expensive in Switzerland, so it didn't feel like value for money in comparison to other hotels around Europe. Massive hill down to the water and shops. The fruit at breakfast was a bit old. breakfast not included in room price and to pay for car parking. The prices is very high with the facility of the Hotel. Wi Fi available, but strength poor...depending on your location in the hotel. Very poor breakfast. money deducted off my credit card on arrival without my approval. i wanted to pay with a cash card. Noisy from road traffic and did not like idea of leaving room key in lobby in insecure position as anyone could walk in and grab that key. Smelly, just for a sleep is fine... People hanging around reception, like a hostel, Keys were on display, No air conditioning, just a fan. the staff was not friendly and most rooms did not have AC. The place is 'tired'. Use as a transit camp only as it is close to the station. you have to pay 20 chf extra for aircondition.. these are the sort of stuff that should be included in the room price. For the money it was way out priced! Very very basic and we don't mind basic, but almost double what we usually spend - No kettle - very noisy as the room was on the street side which has heavy traffic - an no double glazing. Grumby staff and difficult to park.
