The hotel provides free a travel pass which can be used on the first class public transport system - and the airport bus. - Free transport tickets for use on trams and buses. Free soft drinks. Quiet hotel, really helpful reception staff. Excellent location for transport links. Breakfast is really good and worth paying extra for. Room was spotlessly clean. This hotel is superb value for money, especially given that Switzerland is generally very expensive.

The location was extremely convenient -- close to the main train station (SBB Basel) and the University, walking distance from most of what I wanted to see. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was accommodating. Check-in and check-out hours were somewhat limited, but the staff was willing to be flexible and adapted to my travel plans

Tim met us when we arrived and showed us around and made us very welcome
we were given a travel card to use on public transport for the duration of our stay, Tim also gave us a map and provided us with details on what to see and how to get to the football stadium
This was a great place to stay and easy to find as well

Location = perfect (two peaceful blocks out the backdoor of the SSB), there's an excellent COOP supermarket right next to the back exit of the SSB. Cleanliness = perfect (What you'd expect in Switzerland).

I recieved confirmation from letsbookhotel.com and the YMCA Hostel, Basel, each with different prices - 92 CHF and 99 CHF respectively. I paid the higher price, but difference was small so it didn't matter much. Also, clearer directions to the hotel are needed on your web site - I would have liked turn-by-turn directions from the station. I wandered for 25 minutes before I finally found it..

The staff did go above what they tell they'd offer: i.e. checking me in outside of their opening hours because they were there "anyway" and I could leave my luggage with them because the room wasn't ready (I was before check-in time) and because I would return so late, they brought it up to my room. I definitely did not expect this from a "budget hotel"!
