It's the best place to stay in Chur, seriously! We were looking for something affordable and yet close to the station, and Backpacker Planaterra is both those things:) It's not a hotel-hotel, it's a huge flat with a big living room & a big bedroom & a kitchen which is completely yours! Over there it feels like you've come to visit somebody's cosy countryside cottage. I stayed in 7 different hotels during my recent trip in switzerland, and
I loved Backpacker Planaterra the most. I had a whole ground floor
apartment to myself. Its huge, cosy, with a full kitchen and complete
utensils. Location is great, just 8 minutes walk from railway station,
and within old city. Meals are not included but the fridge is stocked
with toast, butter, jam and milk, so its as good as providing breakfast,
a huge convenience. The best thing about this place is its very kind and
he.
The bedroom and living/dining are very large. There is more than enough room for a family of 2 adults and 2 or more children. It's an easy walk from the station with light or wheeled luggage. There is a small, well equipped kitchen attached and it is stocked with items to make your own breakfast. There is a small flat screen TV in the living room with a few English speaking channels. This is really an apartment, not a hotel, however it is modern, clean and spacious, and the owner has gone o.
The accommodation was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. Our
host was very thoughtful and friendly and met us at the premises and
showed us around. There were plenty of information resources available
and also basic supplies of tea coffee bread butter, jams mil and
toiletries. So welcome when you have been traveling for some time and
often we were met with nothing more than just the accommodation in other
places, Planaterra in Chur was the best! Thank you.
Fantastic stay - probably the best hotel experience ever!
It is located on a very quite street in the very city center; has large, beautiful and cozy, dining room. Excellent kitchen with all what you can imagine needed for cooking (even milk, butter, sugar were there!). The sleeping room is spacious, beautifully designed, with comfortable beds and linen. Overall, amazing place! Thanks to the owners.
Good location, around 10 mins from Chur station. The apartment is large (whole ground floor). A large living room, bedroom, kitchen and toilet. The decoration is simple but lovely and warm!
No breakfast, but the host provide milk and bread, tea, coffee in kitchen.
The host is friendly.Once we arrived, she gave us a map and told us the sightseeing spot and where to eat!
Value for money!.
This was basic accommodations in Chur. Although we are not backpackers we thought this would fit our needs for two nights. The space is designed for larger groups. We were the only one's there so the bathroom across the hall and the common space -- kitchen and dining worked find.
Location is convenient and was easy to find. Having entire place to yourself was great and more of a home experience than any hotel or hostel can ever offer. Very unique place to stay with one wall preserved as it's actually part of the original wall of the old city.
Great location - 10 minutes walk from Chur railway station and 2 minutes to old town. Apartment is large, it has big bedroom and big living room, perfectly clean. The owner is extremely nice lady.

Maybe only 1 little thing: the bathroom is across the hall from the bedroom, so you must unlock the bedroom door, go into the hall, lock the bedroom door, unlock the bathroom door, get inside, lock the bathroom door. But it's a very minor inconvenience.
What not to like :).
The bedroom is a separate room off the main entrance to the building. To get to the shower/toilet from the bedroom you have to cross the communal entrance but there was never anyone about. We would have liked to have alternative lighter bedding as the supplied quilts were too heavy for summer use.

A bit difficult to find as the sign of that building is not obvious.
We arrived a bit late, the host was not there when we arrived, we had to call her for check in.
Had there been other guests there, I would have been uncomfortable with the shared space. We are going to re-read the listing to make sure we didn't miss something.
Was requested arrival time 3 weeks before which was hard to estimate that far in advance. 3 days ahead would have been more appropriate I think, as that's what other family-run B&B places normally ask.
Our apartment was on the first floor and bedroom was separated from the bathroom, kitchen and living room by a hall with stairs which is a common territory and used by other inhabitants of this house. So we had a sort of external bathroom what is not very convenient at night. All the rest was perfect.

No double bed. It is a very pitty, there is only one guest room.
