  Although they are doing heavy construction on the place, they managed to provide us with a very comfortable stay. The rooms are so clean and well-decorated. The location is very convenient. If you want to go surfing, it is only a twenty minute tuk tuk ride. If you want to enjoy Galle, it is only a ten minute tuk tuk ride. Very good location, awes... what people say » ome and friendly staff. Food is great too! - I loved the room and bathroom space and décor. But the room I was in, which was superior is going to be upgraded to luxury I was told at the reception. Sad. - we had an excellent stay. They upgraded our room for a deluxe room when we told them we were newly wedded. Staff is welcoming. Room with jacuzzi is perfect.

  Thaprobane Beach House was the highlight of our trip and the best place we've stayed in Sri Lanka. We were incredibly well looked-after and would highly recommend this hotel to all travelers. The staff were fantastic - very helpful and friendly. All of the staff were very friendly, especially Nuwani who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. The location was perfect and the hotel itself had the most fantastic atmosphere. It was a home from home.

  We spent a week in this hotel, and it was a really enjoyable stay. Sumith, his wife and all the stuff are incrediblly helpful, they make everything to give you a feeling that you're in home and not in a simple hotel. Unawatuna is one of the best beaches on the South-West, even the best one in the middle of April - because there were big waves ever... what people say » ywhere but not here. Breakfast is really big, with lots of fresh fruits. You can have a delicious supper on the beach (I highly recommend you the 'Luc - Beautiful inside and out, Ridee Villa has to be the best place to stay in Unawatuna. While on a busy road, you are unaware of it once you walk through the heavy wooden gates into its attractive courtyard garden. On entering the villa, you are immediately welcomed by the owner, Sumith, whose courtesy, helpfulness and desire to please along that of his staff continues throughout your stay. A wonderful find and will certainly return when next in Sri Lanka

  We stayed here for 2 nights in September and it really was amazing. The place is around 10 minute Tuk Tuk out of town but it is on a lovely where the rooms are literally over the water with the waves crashing below. The service was really amazing. It was my girlfriends birthday so I asked what extra they could do for when we arrived. They gave me a few opt - The room I chose faced the sea and the view and sound were incredible. The public spaces were comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly, professional and accommodating and the food was food with convenient hours. I was a perfect seaside retreat.

  A great hotel with a swimming pool in a very green and beautiful location. Smashing staff, all very friendly. Exceptional manager - very chatty and approachable. We were even offered a free room upgrade many times. We refused as we were very happy with a room on the ground floor directly facing the pool. Excellent massage!   We booked an Aqua Romance room which has its own plunge pool, it was a great choice. The hotel is small, but for us, that was a real positive and all rooms have sea views over to Galle Fort. The location was a short tuk-tuk ride out of Unawatuna and Galle, close enough to visit the beaches and other restaurants, but far enough away to be quiet and... what people say » relaxing. The beach, although not as deep and blue as Unawatuna, it is shallower, good for children. In the morning you can wade across the river mou - Excellent friendly staff with impeccable service. The manager, Reny was always on hand to answer questions and organise anything we needed. The Aqua Romance rooms are worth the small extra for a large terrace, jacuzzi and private pool. We booked with breakfast only but decided to change to include evening meals as the food and service was so good. The prices in the restaurant are very reasonable considering the standard of the food. The beach here is perfect and quiet - much nicer than Unawatun
