This is one of the best hotels i've ever been to. Staff at Saraii are the most hospitable i've come across in Sri Lanka. Since its a small resort, they give you more personalized service. The tree house was a dream. My wife and kids were so thrilled. This is literally atleast 25 feet above the ground and the tree sways with the wind. The staff were very friendly and the food was absolutely the best we've had. You MUST request for the lake prawn. The manager organized a safari for us at the yala park and we saw 2 leopards upclose. The atmosphere at Saraii was so serene, such a relaxing and natural place. It was a clear night and we had a quite, romantic dinner under the stars. The manager was very friend. The experience at Saraii was phenomenal, I loved it. If you are not a true nature lover, dont go there. But if you love nature and you want a real experience SARAII is the place to be. Love the ambiance, the food was Sri Lanka and a large spread. Lake Shrimp is a must. Yala ride was bumpy but fun. the manager helped me join some of the other guests at the hotel, so was able to split my cost. Service is excellent at Saraii, they aim to please. They are listed as a top 10 tree house in the world . Fun fun and more fun! Saraii is a romantic little hideout. Not too far from the town, just about 2 kms, but tucked away in a little forest patch. We celebrated our first wedding anniversary and believe me it was romantic and this is the best place for giving a surprise to your wife or girlfriend. Singing of the birds, especially the screech . Saraii was such a treat. The tree houses were really fun, we extended our stay because we wanted to sleep at least one night on a tree house. The manager explained that in Sri Lanka local farmers use tree huts to watch over their fields and these tree houses were inspired by this tradition. Saraii is one of the most beautiful locations I have ever been too. The food is delicious, so fresh and from the village. The room we booked was a ground chalet and it was large, comfortable and colourful. The staff were very friendly and always ready to help. The tree houses looked really interesting too, the manager let us take a look and I bet sleeping on the tree house would have been so much fun, but since we had only one night in Yala we could not extend our stay. Had we known what a spec. One of the most unique and wonderful resorts that i've ever been to. Truly eco friendly and customer focused. They have some wonderful staff that wants only to please you. The food is excellent. A large spread for breakfast and scrumptious dinner with large lake prawns or lake fish. (Ask for the lake fish fry) The manager set up a romantic dinner setting for us under the stars. They also arranged for a game ride at Yala Park, which was fun. The tree house was cool, felt like we were in a childh. The staff was amazing! They made us feel so special. We were the only ones staying there, since it was during to off season. The food cooked just for us was the best we had during our 12 day trip around Sri Lanka. Making it even more special by the effort the staff went through to set the mood. Incredible tree house and peaceful surrounding. Best sleep I've ever had. Cant think of anything bad. The only downside was that we, especially the kids got flogged by mosquitoes the first night. The second night though, the staff brought out extra nets and citronella spray. There is nothing I didn't like about this place.
