  The Nooit Gedacht Resort is an Island of peace and relaxation. It is run on an ecological and sustainable basis. Therefore you will not find any TV or radio in the room and alcohol is not offered, but AC is providet. The rooms in the new part are equipped suitable, the bathroom is clean. It is a pleasure to watch the girls picking the flowers in the morning which you will find on your bed in the evening. On the other hand it is - We stayed at Nooit Gedacht for 3 nights during the low season and got 5 star treatment. The place was kept at the highest standards, despite us being the only guests at the time. Pools, gardens (with lots of widlife), food and of course the ayurveda treatments, it was all perfect. The location is also great - just a few minutes walk from Unawatuna beach, but enough to have some peace - and there is a pleasant walk over the hill to a little village and a quiet little bay called Jungle Beach. We

  A great hotel with a swimming pool in a very green and beautiful location. Smashing staff, all very friendly. Exceptional manager - very chatty and approachable. We were even offered a free room upgrade many times. We refused as we were very happy with a room on the ground floor directly facing the pool. Excellent massage! Breakfast was great and when we ate in the hotel the food was delicious and enough to feed an army!! The setting was idyllic, quiet but close to the beach, a small pool ideal for cooling off. Plentiful wildlife around the hotel including iguanas and monkeys All in all thoroughly recommended.

We had Sri Lankan Breakfast every morning which was excellent. Some of us had English breakfast and that was really good too. Rest of the food like snacks and dinner was excellent.The rooms were very comfortable. The pool was nice and had a mini man made beach. Child friendly. Cannot fault this hotel.

  We stayed from 5 days, Oct 16-21. Food is really really good & prices are good! If you compare with other places in Unawatuna. We ate mostly in the hotel after trying some other places recommended by some books that were not big thing.... The location is good and is one of the few hotels with swimming pool. The walk to the beach is not 2 to ... what people say » 5 min as said by other travellers, is around 10min, is not a big distance but just be careful as people drive crazy, there are cute small shops where - The staff were great, very friendly and very helpful. The Sri Lankan breakfast was yum, and the Sri Lankan dinner was divine (both need to be requested in advance but well worth it!) Lovely landscaped gardens and greenery. A short stroll or tuk tuk ride to the beach, with plenty of stalls, bars, cafes and restaurants on the way.
