The staff was very friendly, everybody was very nice, even the manager always had time to talk about Ideas and so on! The view was really great! The food was good! They even have a reliable tuktuk-driver! We will be back there for sure!!. Hotel a little further from the city center, so quiet and cozy, close to the lake as well as - safe. Staff nice, great breakfast, great variety and good service. So - we felt good after a day trip to swim in the pool.
all reviews » Very nice and picturesque view from the restaurant. A lot of greenery around, jungle and mountains give you a real relaxation. Attentive and young-looking staff. Small swimmingpool at the territory of the hotel. Upper rooms have great view over Kandy city, especially the corner room. The restaurant terrace was also nice, and food delicious. The stuff was very kind. We were given two bottles of water while leaving. Beautifull terace with friendly staff, especialy Amila :) The hotel is not based in center, but by walk is not far. It is nice quite place with nice view. Very friendly staff and organizing good quality service especialy trip around the city they are cheeper than local tuk tuk drivers. The swimming pool didn't look as good in reality as on pictures. Bathroom in our standard room didnt look like very nice, I think that with some little works it could be much more better and nice, not question of the money, not necessary to have like delux bathroom but "normal standard clean bathroom". short bed, little pushy manager. I have bad knees so all the stairs were hard for me. the location where it is located, need to go to a lonely road. but once u reach the top it is worth spending night there. the bath tub can injur you and even break your spine. it is slippery and dangerous. Hot water for shower is not so enough. Dirty bedclothes (if it were clean, this would be excellent hotel for its price) and AC that, maybe, had worke for a very long time without service and did not cool air effictively enough. Our room was small and dark. Everything seemed a bit 'musty,' the humid and wet weather didn't help but still... Up a steep, poorly maintained road. Bathroom shower drain need to be fixed as it overflows. Internet Facility. Horible parking, no buffet. Cleaning & driver cannot stay at the guesthouse. as it rained quite a bit while we were there, the hotels restaurant was situated on the upper level however as it was open air the wind and rain made eating there unpleasant. The rooms unfortunately did not encourage eating in the rooms either. Rooms were damp and were noisy next to reception area. Broken shower. Not clean. Beds were very smelly. Extra beds v.smelly. I was some lizards walking on the walls of my room. It was not a good idea for me to sleep in a room with lizards. Lizards was not very big but next day when I told this to people on reception they were looking like this is normal. Hotel is much more run down than the pictures show. There was no hot water, lots of mosquitoes, the food was mediocre and they turn off the internet at 11p. I was supposed to stay 3 nights but left after one and found a much much better place for the same price. The steep road to the hotel was absolutely treacerous, full of pot holes very steep not safe to walk up at night as pitch black. Shower cubicle smelt awful and was dirty, broken tiles. Sheets and towels looked dirty and smelt, we bought new ones to use. Very noisy at night with the monkeys and you can hear the other guests as walls very thin. Very obvious poor management. Bad layout including toilet too close to shower screen. Dirty. Stayed 2 nights room not cleaned. Sheets too small for bed. Intermittent electrics. Rooms were not clean Linen only a towel One small piece of soap No drivers room Taps were leaking Bathroom flooded. The placement of rooms were not every well..our room opened up to a flowing sewage. Could get a bit scary in the night with big trees and no lights. The rooms were not made up when we left for the day. We had to call the services everytime in order to have our toiletries changed, The intercom did not work, tv did not work. Over all quite upset. I had a terrible experience with Kandy view hotel. Shower facility was broken when we moved in. The poor bed.... couldn't sleep well during the whole night. We asked the staff to recommend some good taste restaurant, but they recommended their hotel restaurant. Then we tried it. Taste was fair, but very expensive!. patheticexperience.
