Toledo Hotels

Stayed here for two nights during Corpus Christi celebrations in June 2009. My husband had stayed here two years ago and suggested we return. The hotel is in an historic building but is part of the Sercotel chain, and that means it works harder at customer service since it must meet national standards for the chain. In my opinion, they succeed. This is almost a three-star hotel, but the rates are two star, meaning great value for the money. The location is ideal for visiting historic central Tol - Colin

You can't ask for more than Hotel Pinto El Greco in beautiful Toledo. The hotel--a steal at 56 Euros--is at the edge of the old town, a less than 5-minute walk on cobblestone roads from Santo Tome, the (former) synagogues, and San Juan de los Reyes monastery. I actually preferred the location at the edge of Old Town because it gave us a respite from the press of day-trippers from Madrid who, understandably, flock to see medieval Toledo. I was stationed with the USAF at the time down near Sevilla, in southern Spain, and booked this at the last minute thru Expedia, and got a bargain $55 total deal for the room. I took the train up to Madrid, and bus to Toledo, and then realized that my hotel was NOT within walking distance of the bus station, as I had been told. That's ok, a 10 Euro taxicab ride and I was there. The hotel itself was very nice, modern, but somewhat stale, and definitely more business oriented. The guy at the front - Brigitte

This was a NIce hotel after too many crappy B&B style hotels. Driving into town, I told my wife lets stay at a nice place tonight. We found the tourist office and they suggested the Hilton and this place. Hilton was more money and this place had a great deal going so we stayed here for the night. Had a great room with large bathroom and nice view of Toledo skyline- this hotel is across river but with a car it's easy enough to drive over for dinner. This hotel seems far better than its 3-star category. You need to use a car or public transport to get to the old town but the view from your own private terrace is stunning, especially at night. The room itself was large and comfortably furnished. The bathroom huge and well appointed. There is a pool for cooling off after sightseeing. The staff were friendly and helpful. I celebrated my wedding there on March 22, 2003. Back then the name of the Hotel was just Domenico and the experience was wonderful. It is a nice, confortable, friendly and clean Hotel. They serve great food and the views of the City are unique. Loved it! - Peter
