  Easy to find the hotel because it is just in front of the Catedral. A few minutes walk to the historical town centre and Renfe station. Staff is also very friendly. I did not know the reception is not open at seven o'clock in the morning. I have left a memo for room charge and when I arrived at Barcelona early afternoon I phoned to the manager for expl - Staff were very friendly and readily accommodated our request to change rooms so that we were away from a busy road. The room and bathroom were scrupulously clean. Centrally located, within walking distance to everything including the railway station, just a 10 minute walk away, with luggage.

  As suggested by its Basque name (which was translated to me by a local to mean "a beautiful place"), an absolutely beautiful location on top of a hill, with a view of a small bay and a beacon. We could hear the roar of the sea at night! The hotel is located at about 3-4 km from the city. It is possible to walk but on the way back t - - excellent hotel if you travel by car, great location, silent in the evenings, excellent view on the sea, very friendly stuff, easy to reach to San Sebastian, good value for money. You can also travel to the mountain nearby (but somehow you need to pay 2 eur to get to the territory - private territory, we decided to refuse) Tea and coffee are available all the time.   The hotel was ideally located for us as it was relatively easy arriving and leaving by car and was a nice walk ( about 20 mins) to the old town, beach and other sites. Onsite parking was available - make sure you get your room card from reception before parking car or you can't use lifts to the hotel! We chose this hotel as we were arriving by car and didn't want to drive right into the city centre. The walk into town only takes 10-15 mins. We also loved the movie theme of the hotel and got the Bob Hoskins room. The rooms have DVD players and you can hire for free, movies from the hotel to watch, so we thought this was pretty cool. Can't comment on the breakfast as we went an ate elsewhere.

  I would highly recommend Luarri. The location is very quiet and scenic and a nice escape from the bustle of the city, and the buses into town are quick (maybe 10 mins to Ondaretta Beach and 25 to Gizupkoa Square) and regular and go from outside the front door (a taxi is around €10 from the main taxi rank at the edge of the old town). The windows have shutters so your room will be pitch black which makes it easy to sleep in late - Luarri is a little gem located in a peaceful setting on the mountainside but only a couple of minutes by car away from Ondarretta beach. Conveniently, the local bus stops outside the hotel every half hour or so and drops off at the funicular railway and then on to the centre of San Sebastián. This is a charming, Basque-style, family-run hotel with modern, stylish bedrooms ( only 7, I think). Belen provided us with directions to the hotel and we found it easily. Free parking was a bonus.   The staff at the hotel have been the most helpful I have ever encountered. The hotel is in a superb location, the room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the bay of San Sebastian with superb views. The room was better than you would normally expect from a 2 star hotel. The underground secure parking was a definite bonus and probably a necessity. In the old town the tapas bars were great, wander along from bar to bar having one or two s - Everthing good here especially as we requested a room with a sea view and booked in the car into their secure garage. A clean bright and comfortable hotel situated around the bay and about a 30 minute stroll along the promenade to the old part of town and the port. The in-house restaurant served throughout the day and this was appreciated for a 24 hour visit. Just 7 euros for secure parking underground. We liked the whole set up and would recommend it.
