Located 1 hour's drive from Barcelona, El Paso Hotel Salou consists of various buildings set around a central area with gardens, terraces and the pool. It is 100 metres from the Train Station on the Barcelona-Valencia line. The all-included rate offers lunch and dinner menus in the hotel’s Mexican restaurant or in PortAventura Park, applicable to designated food outlets and subject to opening hours. PortAventura Theme Park main entrance is just a 5-minute walk from PortAventura Hotel El Paso. The hotel has its own train station. It is just 20 minutes' drive from the high-speed train station, 3.5 km from the A-7 motorway and 10 minutes' drive from Reus airport. Barcelona airport is an hour's drive or train ride away.

great access to everything 2 mins walk to salou very central lovely breakfast very freindly staff. The staff were very relaxed and friendly, the restaurant had lovely food and was very well organised, the mini disco and shows in the evenings were great, and the shuttle train up and down from the parks were brilliant my son loved it.child friendly and a great effort put into haloween.

I would like to exclude the reception staff from this comment because they were great - nice and extremely helpful.The location of the hotel was brilliant, really close to the park and a short walk into Salou centre and beach front. so close to the park and lovely pool. perfect location. location. Reception staff particularly helpful. Considering how busy the hotel was the staff were relaxed and helpful,. It's proximity to the Park. proximity to the parks. limone restaurant. Customer relations staff. no cant wait to go back. not enough characters. The beds were creaky and uncomfortable for a light sleeper.the sound proofing in rooms was poor. It was over run by English on packaged holidays and children. We had a room that overlooked the main area where they held concerts, so until about 12pm there was constant noise from screaming kids and entertainment shows. The Breakfast room was over crowded and we were not given the freedom to sit where we chose.The restaurants staff where not helpful at all. They rarely smile and sometimes they were nearly rude! What a difference from staff at Universal Studios facilities in the USA. On our last day the maid knocked at our door at 09.30 to ask at what time we were leaving. We had to vacate the room by 11.00 and by the way she sounded annoyed too that I couldn't understand Spanish!. The Air Con in the room was not working very well, and in the heat made it quite an uncomfortable night to try and sleep in. But overall hotel and facilities were brilliant.checking in was an ordeal but was to be expected with a hotel his size. Lifts were Proggrammed so badly- a nightmare eg. getting from Floor 2 to Floor 5 as call button is for "Down" only. a real time wasting inconvenience. A shuttle bus To and From the park may be more useful than the train especially in the rain.Service at El Coyote Restaurant was very poor. the rooms - small, uncomfortable, air con didn't work. Breakfast was fine, other meals dreadful.checking in took 1hour and 15 minutes. Lack of cleanliness, pricing strategies, poor quality of food, complaint letter sent - please cross reference with this report.

Free soft drinks are available from 10:30 until 23:30, with alcoholic drinks from 12:00 until 23:30. There is also 1 dinner per stay at the hotel’s El Coyote restaurant. The hotel has 3 restaurants: - El Coyote. This is an à la carte restaurant. It serves extensive breakfasts from 08.00 until 10.30, and Tex-Mex-style cuisine in the evenings, from 19.00 until 22.30. - Club Maya This snack bar is by the swimming pool. It serves sandwiches and hamburgers and is open in summer, from 13.00 until 16.00. - El Mérida This is a buffet-style restaurant with varied breakfasts and dinners. In PortAventura, you can experience the 5 distinct and exciting areas of the park, with their different themes. You can enjoy the rollercoaster rides, including the Dragon Khan roller coaster with 8 inverted loops. There are also special rides for young children.

This hotel complex is located just outside Salou, allowing you to make the most of the lively nightlife, bars and restaurants of the town. The beach is just a short distance from the hotel.

Barcelona Airport is proximately 1 hour drive.

Once Landed:
Airport Shuttle from Reus Airport: Bus service stops at the PortAventura hotels.

El Prat Airport (Barcelona) to PortAventura Hotels: The El Prat Airport (Barcelona) is connected to the Tarragona bus station by the Ràpid Aeroport line. The bus connection for the PortAventura Hotels is at the same station. Both services are run with the same bus, it is not necessary to change. The stop for the Ràpid Aeroport service is located at the exit of Terminal B, in front of the Joan Miró mural.

The bus will drop you off at the Caribe hotel and El Paso can be accessed via a pedestrian path.

By Train:
PortAventura has its own train station (called Port Aventura).

By Car:
If you are coming from La Jonquera or southern Spain:
-Take exit 35 off the AP-7 road, this leads straight to PortAventura.

If you are coming from Barcelona or El Vendrell:
-Take the C-32 until you merge with the AP-7.

If you are coming from the Basque Country or Zaragoza:
-Take the AP-2 to join the AP-7.

Other major roads leading into the area are the N-240 (Tarragona-Lleida), T-11 (Tarragona-Teruel) and N-340 (Barcelona-Valencia).
