We recommend Maspalomas Lago if you are looking for a cheap but nice place to stay. We have spent 3-6 weeks in Gran Canara the last 16 winters, always in bungalows in Maspalomas or Playa del Ingles. We hope we can come back next year and stay at Maspalomas Lago. The bungalows are a little worn out inside but everything works and you have everything you need. We could have stayed in new or new renovated bungalows/hotels for a double price but the sun is the same in both places and it is the sun .
all reviews » The chalet was very good, as described. I was travelling alone and just wanted something basic and reasonably priced, a place to rest after a day out in the mountains of Gran Canaria, walking and taking pictures. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a good wifi service for 18 euro a week. I would definitely return if I want to stay in Maspalomas again. it was a nice relaxing place to unwind,nobody hazzled you to do anything, I wanted to be alone and I was left alone, the staff were very good,room service was excellent, plenty to do, weather wonderful, I will definitely be booking again ,thank you very much, caroline wright. Value for money, layout, quiet, clean grounds. This facility is ideal of a budget family that is looking for a location that is safe for kids and enclosed with things for all to do. Buss stop to town and airport right in front of resort. we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. the restaurant was good and the complex was kept tidy. it was quiet at night and during the day we were able to relax and enjoy the lovely weather. The rooms were very basic but they were clean. Bedding and towels were changed regularly. Outdoor area was a good size and private. The complex was well cared for, very neat and tidy. Quiet, value for money, great location, clean, friendly staff, lovely pool. Very chilled place, cheap and reasonable food. Long walk, buss or taxi to beach or other eating places. Bungalo was a bit rundown and need of minor repair. some of the fixtures and fittings in the bungalow were starting to show their age but clean towels and regular cleaning compensated for this. The kitchenette area could have been better by providing a kettle, toaster and microwave. Cutlery and dishes were sparse. Kitchen utensils a bit sparse. Not many nice restaurants close by. Not heated big pool. Not having a microwave oven!. Not alot nearby, bars and restaurants were either closed or derelict. Had to walk or get taxi to bars and restaurants. It seemed quite spaced out. Not alot of entertainment. Thieves in the hotel area, a hole in the fence were they supposedly got in the hotel area. I mean, how hard can it be to catch repeat offenders?. nothing, except the bungalow could have done with a microwave with grill as well as the hob as it was a self catering facility. The location too far from nightlife .Best to hire taxes 3 60 euro which is reasonable. Except the water in the bigger pool was too cold. There was no iron, toaster or hair dryer in the apartment? Everywhere i went they used to have these supplies so was abit shocked. No free wi-fi...we are in the XXI st century. Equipment and furniture a bit worn, especially the bathroom needs refurbishment. Poor gym. rooms could do with updating. Rooms were very unsecure,and I have never seen any apartments putting up notices warning people about breakins to apartments.Doors out on to patios had a lock that could be opened with a card very unsecure.
