all reviews » Perfect staff, location, and great hotel. Large bathroom. The location was excellent. Right next to metro station. Very easy to get round Madrid and all the sites. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. The rooms were small and very clean,with air conditioning. They were also very quiet as the windows were double glazed. This was important as the hotel is situated on the corner of a busy street and square. I would definatley stay here again. The room was clean and comfortable for 3 of us, and the location wasperfect for tourists with no transport! The location is great - withinwalking distance to places we visited. Great view of the busy activitiesat Puerta del Sol! And definately try the pastries at the corner shopacross Hotel Moderno (8, Puerta del Sol) - yummy!!. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was totally central. The rooms were very comfortable and the bathroom was fully equiped with toiletries. The two lounges were gorgeous but were a bit of a waste without there being a bar. The location was very central, the main attractions were within confortable walking distance, the rooms were very clean with modern decor. We didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on that. No, I can not find one thing wrong with the hotel. The only bad point of the hotel was the breakfast which at 11.75 was a bit of a rip off. Tea and coffee were cold and all the choice of items to eat was bread, ham, cheese. Still, it wasn't included in the price, you had to pay extra so we only used on the first morning. A similar meal in one of the many cafes on the street outside would be €3. No hotel bar which would have been nice to meet in before going out for dinner etc.room was a little bit small compared to US Hotels. The towels were really rough.Although our room was three floors up, we could still feel the vibration and noisy rumbling of the metro trains every few minutes until 1.30am. No Coffee making Facility. poor acoustic insulation between rooms. single room was quite small, no free internet access. Staff was rude. Refused to reconfirm my flight until I complained to the manager. The room is quite small, the sound isolation could be better. We explicitly asked for a double bed when booked the hotel, however a room with twin beds was reserved - we had to ask for the change of the room when checking in.Hotel was verey noisy with the metro almost right outside the hotel. It felt like it ran underneath the hotel as we could hear the trains and what felt like them pass underneath very regularly! Porta del Sol is also quite noisy as it is the centre of the city, so while a great atmosphere was close by, it also ran into the very early hours of the morning making solid sleep difficult. Staff weren't overly friendly or helpful but we would definitely stay there again for location. Staff on reception were not over helpful. Breakfast not included in price!. Cleanliness and service. hotel staff not very sympathic , specially the director ,but nothing to complain about. The style, too dark, old fashioned, small room. 1) No ventilation in the bathroom. 2) Hardly beileved that it was a triple room we booked, only 1 chair in the room, and the door could not be closed because it was blocked by the bed near it. 3) The front desk staff provided wrong transporation information to us, we found that until we went to the wrong bus station.
