Family managed and run delightful, helpful and friendly place to break one's journey ... As a gay couple with our new born premature babies, we were looked after wonderfully. The shuttle bus turned up as promised and returned us the short journey to Madrid Airport. A small fold away baby bed with lovely bedding was provided immediately. One of the nicest short stays we recall. Just a few minutes walk to the town square, where we ate in the evening, made some baby item purchases, on our arrival.
all reviews » If you are stopping over in Madrid, this is the place to stay. A brilliant place in what is a quaint, quiet little village, but literally 15 minutes to your terminal for flights. You are picked up in a mini bus, and dropped back in time for your flight. Efficient, clean, and well appointed. One of the few places we found that had a fridge. Considering how close you are to the airport it is very quiet. Having double glazing ensures a quiet location. Hostal Viky though not a five star hotel but they have five star services.The workers are very friendly and ever ready to attend to your problems if any.Their airport bus is fantastic, When I arrived,I gave them a call, less than fifteen minutes they picked me from the airport.It is my second stayand I will stay there again and will recommend any body visiting Madrid to give a trial. The best was the free transport from/to the airport, so handy if like me, were just passing by Madrid. The room was very clean, with all the comforts. There is a nice square less than 2min walk with several places were you can eat good food for good value. Really handy. Highly recommended if you want/need to be close to the airport. The staff was extremely friendly and the complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport was much appreciated. The location of the hostal was also extremely convenient (quite close to the Metro). Rooms are also clean, if simple. Highly recommended for budget travellers. A really practical and clean hostel for those who are traveling and need a place to stay between planes. You have your own bathroom with a bath, a small double bed and a huge closet. Hardly worth the mention, .... the bedroom was a little cool during the night as we were up baby feeding most of the night; but we had flown in from a country where the temperatures were typically 27-35c - or doubt we'd even have noticed otherwise ... Nothing. No comments. Is close to the airport so the levels of noise are not small. But well, we chose this hostel precisely because was close to the airport and the free shuttle! So we knew the noise was going to be there, easily solving the problem with a set of earplugs. Internet, which costs 2 Euro, is slow and sometimes doesn't work at all. Couldn't get the internet connection to work properly. I had paid the extra few euros for the service. I was too tired to call down to the front desk and try and sort it out; just went to bed instead. We couldn't get the Wi Fi to work. Paid wi-fi, long check in to hotel. Unless I am mistaken, there was no lift, had to lug suitcases up one flight of stairs. No negatives. surrounding area a bit scruffy and some would find intimidating. noisy (streets are quite; you'll hear everything if other guests are speaking in the hallway). To my mind there should be a little snack bar with tea, coffee, etc.no lift, no facilities for coffee. The walls in building 22 (I can't speak for the other buildings) are so thin I could hear the conversations and activities of the people above us and next to us as well as in the hallway. The bed was a bit small for two tall Dutch persons. not a ideal place for visiting Madrid, it is far from the city center,. They charge you 2 euros for wifi, seems a bit cheap 10 min. walk from metro Baraja, not far, but study your map closely before you start walking. Location not so safe. small room. Hardly speak English, waited to be taken to the airport although I booked the time. The location is not what I expected.
