The location of the Hostal Armesto is perfect for art lovers, being only 5 minutes walk from the Thyssen Museum and less than 10 from the Prado. It is surrounded by luxury hotels and restaurants for all budgets. Situated on the first floor of a historic building - one of three hostals in this house - there is no lift, but the kind proprietor helped us with our luggage. It is just off the Calle Cervantes - a very cheerful and pleasant area. At 48 euros per night, we thought it fantastic value fo.
all reviews » The location of this hostel was perfect for those wanting easy walking access to the three big art galleries in Madrid and the gorgeous city park. Good restaurants just across the street. We are 70 and had to walk up one flight of stairs only. The manager got our bags and was so helpful. Our own bathroom, very quiet and safe area. Not luxury, but very adequate and so inexpensive...we stayed two nights before our tour of Spain started and would stay here again for longer!. Friendly welcome and service. Very clean and comfortable with air conditioning (we stayed in August). A fantastic location for sightseeing and eating out. Doesn't look particularly enticing from the street, but don't let that put you off. It is fantastic value for money, we had a lovely stay and will definitely be back.
