Location superb - pedestrianised shopping strip right outside your door. Very safe area. Extremely helpful staff-thanks Mary and George for a great and comfortable stay. Rooms are bright, decently sized and everything works unlike some 4 star hotels I've stayed at. Fast Wi fi connection. Would definitely stay here again. Staff is good, speak english and tell everything you want to know about Madrid. Rooms are very clean with new repair and new ferniture. Location is very good, 7 minutes of walking to the Puerta of Sol. Around Hostal are many cafes an restaurants.

First 2 nights I couldn't sleep because of the next door. Don't take room 11 at fifth floor. The rooms are comparatively small but are enough for short stay. The rooms on the top floor have disturbing elevator sound. I recommend to take the rooms on the 4th floor only. My room was adjacent to the lift which was very noisy!. little bit noisy at early hours in morning - could hear people singing in street. But not bad enough to put me off staying again. Slow elevator, a little bit hard to find. We were in a double room but had only one chair.. Bathroom was so small. too small room.
