  Friendly staff (one man spoke Spanish, English and French), clean and large rooms, a good bed and a proper bathroom. Very good airconditioning (although you can't regulate it yourself, but it switches off at night so you don't get sick while sleeping). The location is superb, it's located just next to the boqueria market (so you are never far from... what people say » lively areas and fresh food). The building pit next to the hostel did not have any negative influence on us, but do make sure you have earplugs. Also - Very friendly and informative staffs. Superb location. La Bouqeria Market, La Rambla Street, Metro station and bus stop is at the doorstep. The room was large with a balcony and shower. The common toilet was always clean. Breakfast was OK. It was the best hostel I stayed in my Eurotrip. If you are in a budget trip. This is where you must stay in Barcelona.

  The hostel is perfect deal comparing price and dwelling style. Room is a bit small, but for location in Barri Gotic you cannot ask for more space. Personnel is wonderful, everyone is very friendly, always smiling and helpful. Location is great, the heart of Barca never sleeps.   This place is in the heart of Eixample in a very nice area. We had a superior room with a nice balcony to the main road (it is quite noisy even at night, but if you use earplugs there is no problem). You also have a commonly used living and breakfast room - very lovely because the details of the old house (e.g, wooden ceiling). And furthermore, Raquel as a host is fantastic :-) - I think the hostel is very well located, its very easy to travel inside the city, because its very close to the metro and main streets.Also you can find pharmacy,restaurants,shopping markets just beside.The owner of the hostel is a very kind,helpful and warm couple. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Hostel's balcony was really good to have breakfast. Calm and warm environment you feel like your home. Hope to come again, I absolutely recommend this hostel.

  I was hosted at this hotel with other four friends. Our room was actually an apartment structured on two floors with an interior ladder. Situated on the floor I think that its quality was a little bit reduced comparing to the other ones. Of course, this wasn't a problem because we had all the facilities included such as big clean rooms, one living... what people say » room and a big kitchen. We also had a great enclosed terrace that had a table and chairs so that we could spend perfect mornings there. The main reas - Their friendliness and willingness to help out with everything I asked about. The speed that things were done if there was any issues with maintenance, or general questions were answered, responded to immediately. the position is perfect. The size is great.

  From the friendly and helpful staff, to the modern design, amazing rooms and great location, the Olivia Balmes Hotel will be one of the hot spots in a year time.
