host, Luisa was excellent, helpful and very friendly. She was there to
greet us and allowed us to come back for an extra day after our train

Loved the location, Hostal Mayor was close to major attractions such as
Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. It was also very near the underground.
Shower had great pressure and the rooms were very clean. In addition to
this the view from the balcony was also great. Over all a nice
comfortable place to stay, we enjoyed it and would recommend to others

The studio apartment was very good and over-looking the main tourist area. Yet it was not noisy as the air-conditioning and sound-proofing was good. The first day the studio was a hole-in the wall. But they apologised and cut a third of the room rent and moved us the next day. So when you book insist on the second floor apartment. -

The staff are very friendly and always willing to help. The room was well kept and perfect for me (traveling alone). The hostal is very quaint, very Spanish and centrally located. The location next to the Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor is excellent, walking distance to the Prado and the main sights. We were received very cordially by the charming and very friendly Luz, in her clean and comfortable hostal. Lots of eating options nearby. We didn't have a good experience at the nearby Museo del Jamon, but that was just our bad choice for breakfast.
